For me... 1. Caligula 2. Deliverance 3. The Wall |
Maz 15.11.2003 22:41 |
I'm not sure if I would call Caligula weird....several more, um, descriptive words come to mind. |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 22:47 |
Well Caligula's life was filled with madness. I'm sure it was like that, I think. However, that film was very over the top, but there are some parts that are very gross. |
NoOneButYou1975 15.11.2003 22:52 |
I'm not sure if I would call Caligula weird....several more, um, descriptive words come to mind. erotic? |
Maz 15.11.2003 22:53 |
Yeah, it was a bit over the top. That's what happens when a Porn King gets producer credit. |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 22:56 |
Erotic? Ermm well if you consider seeing penises every 5 minutes erotic errrr whatever floats your boat :-P |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 22:59 |
You have a point there Zeni. Still, the weirdness (as in the flamboyant way it was displayed) plus the gross factor is high up. |
NoOneButYou1975 15.11.2003 23:03 |
Erotic? Ermm well if you consider seeing penises every 5 minutes erotic errrr whatever floats your boat :-P well i didnt know what he meant about it so i was taking a guess but since you said that and me being well male....i would say gross LOL :p |
Maz 15.11.2003 23:04 |
I'm not trying to pick on you, Marie. Please don't take my comments the wrong way. I thought that movie was awful. It was supposed to be a grand epic, then it went terribly wrong. So many scenes stand out in my mind as simply revolting. (ie take one Christian male, add one farily long and sharp spear, and merriment ensues) |
hamsters 15.11.2003 23:23 |
wow marie, you and I have the same exact list :D but I love caligula nonetheless, the man was a fascinating person and Malcolm Mcdowell is just...AWESOME ;-D |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 23:25 |
Hey hey Zeni hun! LOL I never felt that I was being picked on by you in any way! In fact, I was agreeing with you :) I found it weird when I saw it for the first time, because it is over the top. Also, I was 15 at the time, and watching T & A, penises, and all of the sexual escapades (incl. incest) was way too strange for me at the time. I agree, the castration scene is gross beyond belief. However, it was a common practice back in the Greek era. Too graphic. |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 23:28 |
I must agree Paloma, Malcom McDowell performance was superb! He is a wonderful actor! Especially, in Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange", one of the best films of all time, IMO. Unfortunatetly it was over-shadowed by the crassness (sp?) of the film. |
hamsters 15.11.2003 23:31 |
I pay homage to him in my profile pic ;-) (its not that cool of an angle... and yesterday was SO not a day to wear white...so I took my own artistic liberties) |
Saffron Caribou 15.11.2003 23:37 |
Oooooh nice Paloma! I love it! ^.^ |
hamsters 15.11.2003 23:56 |

Magnolia is bollocks. Dead Man (1995) with Johnny Depp - twisted... |
*the Time Guardian* 16.11.2003 14:12 |
I hated "Dead Man" cause Gabriel Byrne was killed so quickly :P :D |
Mr.Jingles 16.11.2003 14:17 |
Vanilla Sky Moulin Rouge! Those 2 movies are a waste of film that talented filmakers could be using. |
Sir Archie 'Tiffany' Leach 16.11.2003 16:21 |
Eraserhead - anybody know what that is all about? |
Margo 16.11.2003 17:34 |
Cube. that was a really weird movie. there are people... trapped in a cube... well, many cubes, sorta like a rubix cube. you don'r get it? thats ok- i don't either. |
Jessi 16.11.2003 19:59 |
"Incubus" starring William Shatner. You have an evil Incubus (actually I *think* it should be succubus because she's female) anyway she is tired of seducing evil men to their deaths and trys to seduce a good man. She finds good man, (William Shatner...of course) tries to seduce him, falls in love with him blah blah people die...etc oh yeah it's also filmed entirely in Esperanto. |
FriedChicken 16.11.2003 20:01 |
i choose for Cube aswell, Cube 2: Hypercube is even weirder! But it's a great movie! |
MexQueenFM 16.11.2003 20:38 |

Identity Being John Malkovic |
Sonja 18.11.2003 12:40 |
Yeah Eyes Wide Shut was pretty weird. Natural Born Killers was crap IMO. Saw just about 40 minutes of it. Kill Bill isn't bad, but very strange. Blair Witch Project sucked, too I think. |
andYYY 18.11.2003 15:41 |

andYYY 21.11.2003 19:07 |
Kill Bill...saw it today and it was fantastic, I don't think it was weird, but then again , i grew up watching the allnight martial arts shows and if anything, the film was a homage to many of them, sonny chiba and gordon liu are old school movie stars, the film babycart was a strong influence.lol, hope shoujo is reading this cos there is a brill anime sequence in the film......:o) |
Bohemian Queen 24.11.2003 08:53 |
