Queen let a few great songs slip through there fingers in there time as a four piece band in my opinion, and here is a few of my choices. 1. You & I 1976 This great poppy song would have been top ten as has the classic Queen sound of piano and nice guitar lick in the middle of the song and great harmonies and vocal. 2. Soul Brother 1981 Wow this song is dynamite and i love everything about it. Freddie's wonderful falsettos and Brian's blistering guitar licks and so clever how they mentioned various Queen songs in the vocals ! 3. Hyjack My Heart This song should have replaced "The invisible Man" as a potential single because its better in my opinion and would certainly have been a smash. 4. Need Your Loving Tonight : Yes i know this was a single in America but here in the Uk we missed out on this rocker and what a song it was it is brilliant just love it. |

Soul Brother was a B side any radio station or DJ could have picked up on that one and played it but no one regarded it as good enough to be given air time. Hijack My Heart, same as above. Need Your Loving Tonight. Was it better than the four UK singles from The Game. |

Sascha1971 Yeah "I go Crazy" was a great B.side and sadly should have been an "A" side i can also say that although "Body Language" was different for Queen i would have preferred "Put out the Fire" as the obvious choice of "A" side because it was closer to what fans expected from Queen. I wonder if the record label had any say in what they thought the "A" sides should have been? |

“Dancer”. That one simply deserved a decent 12“ mix.. |

"In the Lap of the Gods... Revisited" It's Late Was it all Worth it. Don't try so hard |

Soul Brother and Hijack My Heart - glad you like them, but no chance in the charts. If I was to choose something, I'd probably go for Dancer instead of BL and Ride the Wild Wind instead of Headlong. |

I feel like Put Out The Fire was a better single option than Calling All Girls. POTF is a little more Queenlike than the rest of Hot Space, and could have been a way to show than Queen still rocked in The States. |

I hate Hijack my Heart, I hate it as much as as QAL, the movie and musical together. |

For me I’d choose Ogre Battle or Prophet song. |
Misfire. 18.09.2020 15:07 |
@sexmachine: Would you like "Hyjack My Heart" if Freddie took the lead vocals then? I think Freddie would have turned that song into a masterpiece. Remember when Roger sang "Heaven for Everyone" on The Cross album then Freddie did a version i think Freddie's version was better by miles. |

I agree with You and I, very pop chart friendly and well done. Kind of odd that they didn’t release it as a single after the success of You’re My Best Friend, but perhaps with their (more in the early days, IMO) of not repeating themselves they didn’t want a sound similar to Best Friend coming out?? I’m not as wild about your others as singles, but could maybe be persuaded on Need Your Loving Tonight. I wholeheartedly get behind the fact that I Go Crazy should have been an a side and single release....I love that song! Hard to believe that pretty much only Brian liked that one. |

@vonkeil: "dancer" ftw. i love that song. although it's a product of its time. but every time worth listening to. LOVE IT ! and yes ! a 12'' would have been a killer for sure ! |

I think the world of Was It All Worth It. A true Queen epic that more fans should know. Love, love, love. Also have always been a big fan of You and I, Need Your Loving Tonight and It’s Late. Cool Cat too. |

The Millionaire Waltz and Was It All Worth It are awesome songs for singles, also i fear You and I was a great album track but the British public would not have took to it on mass,no real catch no hook to it imo which makes for a poor single like Backchat which did nowt just scrapped top 40 |

A horrible thought just occurred to me. One Year of Love. There’s always a market for over sung syrupy ballads. But in general Queen released too many singles. Another topic could be which ones would you leave out if you had to keep it to two singles, or even one single per album. |

If Was It All Worth It was released as a single then it would've been the sixth one from the same album. That in my opinion is too many, as is five. Which single(s) from The Miracle shouldn't have been one? I Want It All and Breakthru were wise choices in my opinion both big hits. You And I should've been a single I feel, it's better than You're My Best Friend but is still as commercial and catchy, a bit like the love version of Seven Seas Of Rhye! In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited could've been the third single from Sheer Heart Attack, a great song to play live due to it being a singalong and that would've made it a great performance on Top Of The Pops! |

Probably right on the first two Miracle singles. But it’s hard to judge on chart positions. The first single from each album was usually the highest charting. The second often the second highest. By then a lot of people have bought the album . Breakthru worked because it suited a summer release and had a novelty video. I want it all is really the only one with lasting airplay from that album. |

“One Year of Love” & “Drowse” get my vote. |
Misfire. 20.09.2020 11:27 |
"The Invisible Man" & "Scandel" were bad choices for single releases here in the UK and i would have thought "Was It All Worth It" would be the perfect choice after "Breakthru". I think "One Year Of Love" was actually a single in and around Europe and not really single compatible i would have thought. |

In my opinion, there were no songs overlooked as singles, and there generally should not have been more than three singles per album (with the exception of Another One Bites the Dust) After the 70s, music became all about singles and videos for most bands, and unfortunately the significance of album rock radio faded. |
