To settle the "duck house" video claims, I'd like to post this article that appeared last year and in it, Rudi claims the last time Freddie stepped in front of a camera was for Days of Our Lives.
No mention of the Duck House at all. link
I personally don't think Freddie filmed anything music wise etc at the Duck House during his illness he knew he looked real ill just look how ill and gaunt he was on Days of Our Lives, has anyone asked Peter Freestone?
Darren to me that means
1. It did happen, but it will never see the light of day
2. It didn't happen and Rudi is being deliberately evasive
Honestly I think that it didn't happen and that's because from the paparazzi shots of 1991 - EVEN BEFORE These are the days of our lives - Freddie's face bore the marks of Kaposi's sarcoma. They're visible in the paparazzi photos and of course that's one of the things that made it obvious the public that Freddie had AIDS even before he announced it - there were other things, the rumours, the fact he wasn't seen in public, the fact there was no tour for 4 years at that point - but in order for Freddie to shoot Days of our Lives it took him hours in makeup to cover these marks and even out his skin tone enough that he would look OK in the obliterating light used on TATDOOL video. I'm not convinced that he would have allowed himself to have been filmed after that.
Of course there is one other possibility and that is that this fabled clip was recorded before Days of our lives, maybe even some time in 1990, and people have screwed the timeline. It's possible that the video was started and shelved. Who knows??
What's true is that if it exists we won't see it, and I'm happy enough with that because clearly Freddie at the time would have said "no" after the fact.
I still hate Rudi fo making up the 1984 Works /audio) Interview looking like it was the "Last person I'm talking to" as the last interview he gave. That was so low
Yeah but that 1984 interview at the time it had been edited into that "Last person I'm talking to" clip on Champions of the World, had been around for 11 years, and Rudi probably assumed that many or most fans would have seen it at that point....
Martin, I don't think Freddie would have had any motivation to do any interview at that point, or any video shoot after TATDOOL
He is hyping up his book to the last , I bet there won’t be much in it they we don’t already know , unless he gives us a lot of insight into how the promo videos were put together for example . Will more than likely still buy it and see how it compares to the books by Hutton and freestone
I for one was tricked into thinking that was Freddie’s final interview in Champions of the World. That was definitely edited in a deceptive way. If they had a caption on screen that said “Freddie Mercury, 1984” they could have avoided this confusion. That was was basically the pre-Internet world and I would best most would have no idea where that interview came from, at least back then.
That doesn't change the fact that it was deliberately edited in such a way as to convey a false impression. It simply means an expert could tell it was deceptive.
It is absolutely a moral low point for DoRo, and unacceptable in a documentary.
The video you have shared is really amazing. I don't think that everyone has watched this video. Those who haven't watched it should try now because it's such good entertainment and many good things are included in the video Hemp Oil
