I came across edited HD broadcasts of both Sheffiel 2005 (albeit 720p), and Ukraine (full HD). What a shame they never made it to blu ray. These edits loo superior to their dvd counterparts.
I hope at one point, they'll release them in an up-to-date format. I'm sure Japan 2005 was filmed in HD as well. And they no doubt have most of the 2008 tour at least in HD that could be a great bonus. Would make for a wonderful package.
anyone seen these edits and feel the same way?
Brian and Roger have written Paul Rodgers and TCR out of Queen+ history so it's doubtful any of these concerts will get a hi-def release any time soon.
i would love to hear a "red house" in its completeness... and the soundcheck of "call me"...
... not worth a dime, my comment, is it ? hum. SRY !
.
never understood why they have had chosen an eminem-track to open the show, though.
not helpful, isn't it.
.
i'll be quiet :-)

Japan 2005 was broadcast in SD but who knows if a HD version exists in the archives. I have buth both thr HD edits you mentioned (Kiev was shared here, looks amazing) but cant share as my upload speed is rubbish

I've heard Brian mention it a couple times in recent years.
But does he really have much reason to? It's just one of many things they've done in the past.
Sheffield gig has its problems though... very washed out whites with no detail... almost certainly a camera/recorded problem that's on the master tape. Will only look just as bad/worse in true HD...
And yeah: that Bo Rap YouTube clip has a serious frame rate problem!!

I'm surprised to hear this...Japan has always been pioners in video/audio technology, so in my mind, anything in 2005 would have been HD.
But as you say, it may have been shot in HD, even though the broadcast was in SD.
It's kind of hard to tell from the dvd. Some images are really sharp, but others surprisingly weak.
I'd expect Hyde Park 2005 was filmed in HD too (sadly only 2 songs released in SD). If we ever get that show released I'm sure it wont be in the bands lifetime!
