When are they going to officially cancel or postpone the UK shows? I really can't see it going ahead, as places like the O2 will.probably close, but it would be good to know what's happening.
I don't know for certain but if they are going to cancel the tour they could do that today.
They've postponed Paris ( not cancelled it ) postponing the whole tour will result in rescheduling all the dates, so trying to rebook all the venues in a time frame that fits in with the band and the venues availability. Plus re hiring transport for equipment and crew etc, effectively booking a tour from scratch, it's a major job.
Because they haven't cancelled anything (yet) my feeling is that they are waiting and hoping the tour will go on as planned or that they are replanning so that they can announce the postponement and new dates at the same time.
The thing is, if the government bring in the advice / ruling that over 70s need to self isolate for 12-16 weeks, Brian and Roger won't be able to make it!
I'm sure there will be a lot of people who won't now want to take the risk of going, particularly those in the more vulnerable groups, given that the peak of the virus is being predicted for around that time. Those people, including myself, won't get refunds if they simply choose not to go, and £170 isn't pocket money to most of us.
This isn't meant to be a whinging post, but other bands have already taken steps to cancel tours, and as it seems inevitable that this tour will be cancelled, I'm just wondering what the hold up is, and why they don't just announce it. I get that it's not till June, and things may have changed by then, but I really can't see us being over this epidemic that soon.
