I mentioned this on my reel to reel thread in September last year. link
It would appear Wardour got their hands on it, and released it on Wardour-398.
For your reference there are some extensive notes and audio samples in this giginjapan link: link

This is just the original We Will Rock You version, without the pitch problem that arose from the film-> video conversion.
Correct.
The bootleggers say it could be from a broadcast in the 1980s, but it's almost certainly later than that, as the 90 minute VHS version wasn't released until the early 1990s.
Can't imagine QPL handing over tapes of unreleased songs for an FM broadcast in the 80s. In fact, it's likely the band weren't even aware of the broadcast, as these things went back then.
Also - it turns out the original VHS release actually was in 1982, and it was 90 minutes long.
Why they released later versions missing a few songs is beyond me.
Exactly, so it wouldn't of been a case of QPL handing over the tapes for an FM broadcast in the 1980's.
Saul Swimmer could do pretty much whatever he wanted to do with them back then, and he did.
I think that's the re-released version. The original VHS had Roger's drum skin design. Something like this: http://www.videocollector.co.uk/we-will-rock-you-queen-live-in-concert/30599
Only I remember more green on the cover of the VHS I got my hands on. Rented from a video store. Those were the days. I remember thinking it was the greatest thing I'd ever heard, although it seemed to play a tad fast.

Indeed.
Although I'm not entirely convinced that this new bootleg is actually from an FM broadcast. It may well be yet another copy from one of the early VHS releases, as it's mono, and JJ Jackson doesn't even mention Queen in his brief intro. It just sounds like it's spliced in, and could be from anywhere.
And for some reason the bootleg label spliced in Love Of My Life with the fake audience from Queen Rock Montreal. There's nothing at all new on this.
Without hearing the original reel tapes, who knows who did what.

There are dozens of versions - I actually had no idea there were so many. A few of them from the later 80s were edited down to 60 minutes, but the original 1982 release does have the full 90.
