This is difficult to say ,I have know idea, their is a lot of money being passed around. They have to pay for the arena, security, lighting, effects, extra musicians they are using and all the roadies, drivers etc.I know Freddie said that they lost money on most tours that they did.
Well compared to other artists, Q+AL don't sell tickets as much as other bands like U2 or Coldplay but I'm sure enough each night to pay for everything and enough money to make a profit (enough money to show it was worth it). I'm pretty sure that if Q+AL weren't making profits they wouldn't be doing it or their ticket prices will rocket upwards. It's true that artists now have to rely on touring as their main income but it might not necessary be all true for Q+AL but it'll be a big part of it.
It depends on how much prompters are willing to pay and how well Jim Beach negotiates their contracts, I guess.
A promoter buys the package that Queen is offering (Yes, Queen, because Adam is part of that package, which also includes the stage and Crew). And Queen only sells for the price that guarantees them a nice win - after the expenses that they had put into said package, of course.
When promoters are willing to book them and offers had been made, they start planning a new show.
That’s how I understand the proceedings, but maybe someone else can say more or correct me.
