I’d rather have heard Freddie sing a song by one of his idols... not someone 10-15 years younger than him. Doesn’t make sense. But, I just can’t choose what. |

a freddie mercury cover album would have been cool although i can't think of anything that would fit - Earth song by MJ mentioned above is a pretty good one. Any Jim Steinman-Meat Loaf song would have sounded better if Freddie sang it... Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through would have been nice or the one Celine Dion did, It's All Coming Back To Me Now Manic Street Preachers - A Design For Life, The Everlasting or Anthem For A Lost Cause would have sounded fantastic |
MisterCosmicc 12.11.2019 04:24 |
Sorry, Freddie covering Michael Jackson sounds stupid. |
MisterCosmicc 12.11.2019 04:27 |
Can't anyone find a song by someone older than Freddie that'd be cool if he sung it? Apparently not, by the new Queen fans. |

I would like to have heard Freddie's interpretations of the below: Aerosmith "Dream On" The Who "Behind Blue Eyes" (even though Freddie had brown eyes) Radiohead "Creep" |

Some absolutely ridiculous suggestions here. It's no wonder Queen rarely did what fans wanted them to do. Besides, Fred's covers versions rarely work ... Immigrant Song, Great Pretender are poor. Going Back is much better. |

I would love to hear Feddie covering "Carry on my wayward son", "Still loving you" and "More than a feeling". I always think those songs have a certain Queen vibe. |

Great Pretender was a great cover song from Freddie. I also like the early ones, I Can Hear Music and Going Back. Would have liked an album dedicated to Bobby Darin. Caravan, Charade, Nature Boy, Look At Me... All songs covered by other artists, sure, but I like Darin's versions. A couple of examples: link link |

Freddie's version of Great Pretender not that poor at all. Its simple Not-his-type-of-song. The more sophisticated and layered songs - that suits him |

Candy Shop - 50 CENT OUTKAST - ROSES Ah....nah. i can't even keep this going. His style was completely different unless he was riffing on an old standard type song. So I'll pick one i love Be my baby - The Ronettes Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground - THE Willie Nelson Without the light fair or power ballads Its hard to categorize stuff he could've sung and suited well without changing the arrangement and perhaps even style drastically I Witness - Black Sabbath in fact a whole lot of Sabbath would've worked well. As they were somewhat of the same era and shared compositional similarities. How about THE WRIT as well? (SABBATH) as sort of a DOTL PART II |

The Great Pretender is superb ! - perfect for dear Fred. 'Black Betty' - Ram Jam. Now he would have ate this up and spat it out. In fact, it coulda been on Jazz . |

I always wondered how nice it would be to hear Freddie sing, like Rod Stewart and other old star have done, classic songs like Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, My Way, We Meet Again, Can't Help Falling Love With You, etc, and maybe someone of these exist.... |
Viper 13.11.2019 08:50 |
Always thought Fred and Queen will do a great job with November Rain, by Guns N' Roses. Imo it lacks vocal emotion and a good climax. Although the last 2 minutes of the song are soberb! Always felt Brian's high guitar notes will suit better both guitar solos from Slash! |

I would have liked him doing Sinatra type songs. Big band, saloon songs. He passed just before those duets albums started coming out. The Barcelona album was just the tip of the iceberg of what he could have done. Also, I would have loved to hear Frank sing My Melancholy Blues. |

I think that Billy Squier did a couple of songs - especially when he was produced by Mack - that would have suited Freddie. "1984", where Brian May did the guitar solo or "Emotions in Motion" where Freddie and Roger did the backing vocals, "Reach for the Sky", "You should be high Love" and some others. And off course I would love a full Freddie version of "Love is the Hero" on which Freddie and Billy share the vocals in the released version. |
