What's up with QueenOnline forum? Today I see this General Error SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] Too many connections [1040] An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists. |

Either too many connections, or the space on the database partition is running out. |
| Nathan H 08.11.2019 14:14 |
It's been like it since Thursday I think because I last went on it Wednesday evening. |

Still not working. It has never been down this long before that I remember. |
| Saint Jiub 16.11.2019 02:57 |
Has QOL improved in the last 15 years? If not - Hope it stays down, and good riddance. Official fan forums of any type are typically lame. |

Saint Jiub wrote: Has QOL improved in the last 15 years? If not - Hope it stays down, and good riddance. Official fan forums of any type are typically lame.I joined in 2007. In some ways it has improved, but the last few years many posters have left. Still some good people left though. I won't name names. Honestly, I think Q+AL has created a divide. I don't ever remember Q+PR causing such a divide, but I joined in the midst of that, not the start. |

So what happened to QOL? Did you break it with your 5-page dissertations, icy? :—) |

SweetCaroline wrote: So what happened to QOL? Did you break it with your 5-page dissertations, icy? :—)That's what we are trying to find out. No, I didn't break it, what else are you going to put out there about me to try to pin on me? Just stop. Careful of what you try to pin on me, dear. Did you break it with your non stop spamming the place? |
| Nathan H 19.11.2019 07:41 |
It's only worked on the last couple of Sundays (the 10th and 17th). |
| blueviolin 19.11.2019 21:28 |
Maybe the forum is victim of Queen's growing popularity.... |

I asked if QOL was back, and if it will stay back. No one answered because it went down again. It's strange. I've never seen it not working for this amount of time, nearly two weeks now. |
| Ori 20.11.2019 13:21 |
There is a lot of good stuff on there but it is dying on its arse at the moment. Plus there's some appalling politics and endless unpleasantness from the old "in crowd" who never get called out by their mates on the moderating team, and keep starting threads called "I miss so-and-so from 2006 this place is too PC now, we used to call a spade a spade, snowflakes etc etc" |
| PrimeJiveUSA 20.11.2019 19:19 |
They seem to be in the midst of a crisis over there. It's strange that Queen has gotten a boost in popularity from the film but you wouldn't know it by visiting the QOL message boards. You could shoot a cannon through there and not hit a poster. |
| cmsdrums 20.11.2019 21:22 |
I’m guessing it’s one of the following: 1) there’s been something horrific said and they’ve overreacted by taking the whole site down 2) a redesign of the whole of QOL is coming and they’re starting with the forums pages 3) they’ve got major system issues and can’t fix it! |

And its never taken this long to do it. 3 I think you could be right, because right now I don't even get the system error message to come up. The site doesn't load at all. |

The rest of the site is working perfectly, seems weird it's only affecting the forum. |

Also a couple of days after Sunday last week. But it has been unavailable for the last couple of days again. I also noticed a lack of participation in the few days it did work. Maybe a lot of people have given up on it because for a few weeks it only worked on a Sunday. A thought I had which may not be accurate was that queenonline is doing it deliberately so they can eventually claim its not worth the trouble anymore and just delete it completely. Conspiracy maybe but still a tactic that might work. I don't know, hope it will be stable again in the future. |

SweetCaroline wrote: OMG, Icy, get a grip and stop stalking me!You get a grip instead of blaming or implyying to blame me for everything you can possibly think of. That's your MO, and it's a shitty one. Did you fail to notice I was replying to Stick as well in my above post. STFU that I'm stalking you, thats another one of your shitty MOs, that you like to spread about me. Replying to you, isn't stalking, I don't think you know what stalking actually is. Im going to tell you this now...you have slandred or defamed me for long enough, years of it now of your fucked up lies and blame games you like to spread about me. You have blamed me outright or by implication that when things go wrong for you on QOL, or go wrong on QOL, you say its always down to me, or imply its because of me which is utter lies. You have ago long passed the point of being any sort of rational behavior . Lose your shit some more because you can't spam, or promote AL on QOL, you must feel lost, you poor, sad thing. It's you who could use a grip. If QOL ever works full time again, try to think before you post links that go God knows where, even a Google Drive link, you post without a care . You have posted some shitty links more than anyone else over there. But oh no, let's have you "ask" rather imply that I broke it instead. Stop your shit, SweetCaroline aka CNB. |

No time to die... O, I know, it's a trick from Rami Malek, he's the bad guy in James Bond but as he played Freddie Mercury he took his revenge on the forum :-o I cannot post there, everytime I try it says I have to login again. (even though I logged in 5 times) Maybe it will die another day, I guess that's up to the killer queen. |

Seems to be still down. Maybe they like it that way. They never could handle criticism. Brian and Roger should have formed their own band, The Snowflakes |
| Elessar 21.12.2019 07:29 |
There are a few bands with thriving message boards, but they’re few and far between, and even those ones are in a slow decline. The rise of social media has changed the paradigm. Discussion of the band can take place on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, whilst discussion of unrelated topics is probably unnecessary. The idea that it’s nice to discuss world events with like-minded individuals is a myth, because actually the only thing that Queen fans have in common is that they like Queen. Counterintuitively, plenty of Queen fans are racist, homophobic, xenophobic etc. QOL was becoming a bit of a cesspit for paranoia, conspiracy theories and racism. Those people with those views have the right to have them but they probably don’t give the impression of the band that the powers that be want, and so I’m not surprised there’s no appetite to fix the technical issues. I personally encouraged them to pull the plug around a year ago, or at least to scrap all the non-Queen sections. It’s not about censorship, it’s about damage limitation. |

Some bands moved their discussions to discord. |
| Ian-Highlander 14.01.2020 13:30 |
I've had a couple of emails asking me about this and the honest answer is I don't have a clue. It's a long time since I had anything major to do with the QOL forums (although I still pop on now and then if I'm really bored). I have however reached out to the "powers that be" (never did understand why they were referred to as that, but hey ho). They are aware of the issue, it was not intentional but other things are taking priority right now. Quite what happens from here I don't know, but they are aware of it. They've promised to update me once more is known. |

Other things, sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it stays offline indefinitely. Most of the NuFans, the only group they care about, are on social media - twitter, facebook, you name it. |

The phrase first appeared in the Tyndale Bible, William Tyndale's 1526 translation of the New Testament, as: "Let every soul submit himself unto the authority of the higher powers. There is no power but of God. The powers that be, are ordained of God". ??????? |

As the QOL Moderator hated QAL i would not be surprised if they closed it. QAL was generally hated over there so they had to react. Sad but true |

It was a server issue. For once and for all, no I didn't "break it". Fact. It's absolutely fkd up what you try to pin on people that you don't like or agree with. Years of your lies about me you have started and spread, too bad for you the truth is out there more often than not. You know in case you want to imply/blame me for breaking QOL for years like you do about your bans and those of others.
