link NEVER Couldn't actually agree more with Brian on this one, Michael Eavis comes across as such a prick. "Not our kind of thing", "disagree over badgers", what an arse. Stick to your word and make good money elsewhere, nowhere near this pathetic English swamp. |
stevelondon20 25.10.2019 16:28 |
Michael has proven to be a complete bell end. |
mooghead 25.10.2019 22:10 |
I wouldn't want to see this lot there anyway. Can you imagine that person being the singer at a Queen gig at Glastonbury? |
Dr Magus 26.10.2019 09:58 |
Not Queen anyway. Just Brian and Roger with their tribute band. |

He seems like a pretty bizarre person: an utterly reactionary farmer, but also a radical Corbynist Labour-supporter. That seems kinda schizoid. Also, I can see how people might not want to deal with someone as abrasive as Eavis. Having said that, I also get the impression that Brian is *really* thin-skinned. |
k-m 26.10.2019 13:54 |
It seems like there was some back and forth and Miami possibly approached the organisers only to get rejected. Brian obviously got the hump and looks like he demands an apology now. Having said that, I can't see them over there either. Would have been an embarrassment. I'm pretty sure Freddie would break Lambert's neck if he saw what he's up to. |
dysan 26.10.2019 14:04 |
I've never liked Eavis or his moronic family. |
dysan 26.10.2019 14:06 |
I feel bad now. Sorry :( |

Glad Queen + tool are not doing Glastonbury, Lambert would be a bigger tool than what he is now in his freaky trans / gay what am i costumes? |

I agree wi' Moogie. I'd be mightily embarrassed to have this 'Queen' abhorrition on show at such a massive event. |
Day dop 26.10.2019 18:17 |
Glastonbury is somewhat of a joke these days anyway. |
Nathan H 26.10.2019 19:13 |
I think it's a real shame that Queen aren't going to be at Glastonbury anytime soon because playing there will do so many great things to their legacy and album sales - in the UK it will probably have the same effect as the movie. |
dysan 26.10.2019 19:27 |
True. This place is much better since the movie attracted more new fans. |
Holly2003 27.10.2019 08:15 |
Playing Glastonbury is part of Brian's ongoing attempt to make "Brian May's Queen" bigger than the original Queen. Meanwhile no new music as it doesn't sell without Fred's voice. |
mooghead 27.10.2019 19:42 |
"Brian May's Queen" New and original material! Can't wait! Sounds ace! |
Star* 27.10.2019 19:43 |
Brian May's Queen is crap what a joke. |

Brian May is the king of humans against a name changing narcissist.. What will you be called tomorrow? |

While there is a bit of to and fro between them I think Brian is covering himself here. They would play if asked. But Eavis has done more than just argue against Brian’s personal views, he has also suggested the music and corporate leanings of the band don’t sit with the ethos of a Glastonbury. Which is even more insulting given Eavis loves Coldplay. |

Which is even more insulting given Eavis loves Coldplay.I believe that it's the other way round. Eavis, like everyone has his own views political,or otherwise. . . He is probably at odds with a lot of Glastonbury's ticket buyers over the badger cull, and the war of words between him and Brian is his reason for not wanting Queen on the bill. On Brian's side this is nothing new, he was against doing Glastonbury a few years ago because of Eavis's stance on hunting and wildlife welfare. Eavis's is covering himself by saying Queen is not their "thing". He and Emily has promoted the festival as being the one that everyone wants to play and they aim high and attract a huge cross section of styles and artists. When you're talking headliners on the Pyramid Stage they regularly go into "brand" territory and why would one band's anthem be less fitting than someone else's. By saying Queen don't fit he is trying to steer people from the real reason which has nothing to do with music. |
dysan 28.10.2019 12:01 |
I guess newbies since the film won't be familiar with Brian being the crazy badger man that older fans will know and roll their eyes at. |
AlbaNo1 28.10.2019 14:15 |
Right. Because Brian was big into animal welfare in the 70s , 80s and early 90s. I must have missed that. He won’t play a festival because he disagrees the landowners approach to wildlife population management but was ok with playing a resort linked to South Africa’s apartheid in the 80s. |
dysan 28.10.2019 15:01 |
OK |
AlbaNo1 28.10.2019 15:20 |
Not to discredit anyone else’s interpretation of it. I’m sure Brian disapproves of badger culling and didn’t approve of apartheid, but my impression is they would play Glastonbury if invited. |
Star* 28.10.2019 16:22 |
No point in Queen playing at all in my opinion because Freddie and John are not there. |
FMBMJDRT 28.10.2019 20:34 |
I can envisage Brian, Roger and Adam on stage at Glastonbury with various ironic banners in the crowd sayingg 'We love you Deaky" " |
AngelR 29.10.2019 02:47 |
There are usually 'We Love You Adam' banners as Glamberts are 100 x more active than Queen fans. ? |
dysan 29.10.2019 08:18 |
I should imagine if they are offered anything it would be the tongue in cheek afternoon 'legends slot' at some point in the future (2020's is gone) which of course doesn't tally with Queen. As much as I hate it, Queen must be seriously wanting it as it's a big thing regarding UK press. But I see they're washing their hair over that weekend in Cologne and Zurich. |
Star* 29.10.2019 12:54 |
So glad Queen have turned down Glastonbury. Adam can go by himself then get pelted with eggs and bottles (recycled) of course or Brian will moan. |
Togg 29.10.2019 13:17 |
Not been here for a while, nice to see it's still full of homophobs and dickheads, Funny thing is I used to read the same shit in the NME in the 70's and 80's about Fred... The fact is Evis is wrong about TB, there is no evidence to back up his view, But I can understand him being irritated by May and viewing him as a do-gooder, it's a shame he diesn't look at the actual facts first. Queen would love to play Glastonbury, Jim sent a hand written letter to Evis asking him, but if' he'd said yes, Jim would have had to do more than a hand written leter to Brian to get him to agree, Roger on the otherhand would jump at the chance. |
