Carmine Appice told that Brian sent him two different stiles recorded: one straight and the other with wah-wah. And since Appice had never heard Brian's guitar sounding that rough way he decided to use the latter for his song. BTW, have you noticed the new music & lyrics video? It was shot with iPhones separately, each one DIY, early September of this year. |

However, in my view Brian's guest appearances on other people's records are mostly underwhelming -- like this solo. Of course, he has to serve the song but often his solos are quite dull. What worthwhile stuff did he record since Freddie's passing? 1 good and 1 average solo album , 2 Ellis records with mainly covers and numerous collaborations that are rather forgettable. Kudos to him for his Dr. but his guitar playing has suffered and he completely dried out as a songwriter for almost 30 years now which is pretty sad. Instead of going the nostalgia route he had the opportunity to do sth more than just play the Greatest Hits over and over again. |
