Hello, I trust all who attended the convention had a great time. I know everyone will be sworn in confidence regarding detail of any Queen releases. However, without breaking any confidence would anyone who attended be able to advise if we can expect anything in 2019/20 from Queen?
Updates on boxsets?
Okay. Here's what greg said.
The Band are NOT doing anniversary boxsets - they don't want to get tied into that every year.
Live Killers boxset is still on the cards. A Jazz boxset has been talked about and a Miracle Boxset is on the cards too.
NO dates have been given for any of this.
With the success of the movie and the image of the moustache Freddie as they call it, they could think of The Works boxset but as we're getting the Never Boring, the idea of having Queen versions of both Roger and Freddie stuff - that began its life during those sessions and resulted in solo versions - is out of the question now I think.
@brians wig
Thanks for that. A Jazz boxset would be nice but if Miami said that we'll possibly get loads of unheard material in the Miracle Boxset then it is also a nice perspective.
Not doing annual releases is understandable - tying in each year to a suitable album anniversary. That would set them up for failure I'm sure with their notoriously long lead in times. And of course if they plan 2 years in advance they have a enough time to rethink and veto.
I can't think of anything nicer. 2 old pals sat around listening through tapes and digging out old pictures that tie in to an upcoming anniversary with a view to making a release. A shame.
Oh I thought he meant Joshua J. Macrae, Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson sat there stroking their chins in dungerees going 'wwwwwwell we could fix that bum note for you but we don't have the part in the van so we can bodge it together now and if you're ok waiting for Wednesday we'll have the part ready. Are you in on Wednesday? No? Well the bodge should be OK if you want to release it like that".
