I remember reading an interview with John where he was asked about relationships with other band members and he answered that he couldn't imagine going to Freddie's house and him coming to his. I guess it was taken in early 80s. Can't find it anywhere, sadly. Maybe somebody here at least knows the details of that interview?
I remember that interview but cannot remember where I've read it. I do recall that John was saying that Freddie and he got along in the band well but that they do not socialize outside the band, not in such way that Freddie would come to his house for dinner and vice versa.
I could only find this interview from 1996, where it says John "confessed in 1981, (..) I would never think of going round to Fred’s house and he would never come to mine. We’re poles apart in that sense.”
