While QP is flooding the market with another boring release, I suggest all you Queen fans and collectors paying attention to this DECENT unofficial DVD entitled "Freddie Mercury - Under The Spotlight": link
For just 10 quid this is really a value for money!

Well... tell me how it goes when you view it.
I saw the FM + Montsi TV Interview listed and an interview "last interview" with Rudi Dolezal... is that true? or is this maybe some bit from the Miracle? Clarity! Clarity! ;-)
^actually this boredom is likely mostly for US, the eager super fans and former super fans who still lurk but don't participate (*after all- there is little to participate with unless you've got unheard/unseen stuff or get into diplomatic discussions)
For the public as a whole, they'll either eat this up or it'll crash and burn.
They're effectively trying to ride the newer Soundwave technology and give the album "umph" - however i disagree with the BARCELONA mess as everyone has pointed out. .. it pales sorely and i was full of light grief and regret when i first heard it.
It's probably the last album/thing of theirs I've bought within the first week (*unless Rainbow came after; but i waited until XMAS to watch Rainbow: (again but on DVD))
Some mixes from the 1980's could benefit from just remixing the original material, others - maybe they were processed before being recorded and there is no raw instrumental material. ...hell if i know, i havenotlistened to the original reels/data
Either way; this is for the public at large and will be filled with all sorts of complimentary talk about how "Freddie would've wanted it" etc
This is business and pushing back product on the market of a NEW AUDIENCE who likely HASN'T HEARD THE ORIGINALS
So. ...yeah. Mega fans getting screwed as usual.
Like i said before. The running time of both BARCELONA mixes would make it possible to have both on one disc
The boring theme continues with the greatest hits concerts, its not all AL to blame.Even though he stands like a constipated penguin. No its the fault of Brian and Roger they keep the same greatest hits set list all the time. Its safe, bland and at least Paul Rodgers had some moves and songs to bring to the table.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a further release this year as it's got an early release date. Do you remember the gap between Live At The Rainbow and Queen Forever? Normally the releases are late-November instead of early-ish-October.
Rainbow was released on the 8th and Forever was announced on the 19th.
I know but in 2014 they released a compilation and a 40th anniversary live album - so far this year they've announced a compilation album which means they could potentially release something else...
I wouldn't call Never Boring a compilation album as it is basically re-mixed (and re-worked in some way) Mr Bad Guy album. On a side note, this can be considered as Queen-related release but yeah, they still haven't announced anything which will be entirely released by Queen Productions.
Also it is interesting how much control over this release has Freddie's estate and how much Queen Productions?
I don't think that if it was released independently by Queen Productions we would get Man Made Paradise, There Must Be More To Life Than This in the forms they were completed / created by the band in the 1983/1984
I agree I'm also bored shitless of those same boring greatest hits tours which Brian thinks they are "dangerous" etc.. I have a feeling QP may start working on a future release of those Queen and Bowie sessions when I say future it'll probably be 75th anniversary ha (or I may be wrong ) I'm 50/50 on the new Freddie box set I got the 2000 release which in my opinion was better than any box set by Queen after 1991 in terms of content etc, how many times will Miami keep repackaging Freddie's solo material or shitting on Mercury and Moran's original masterpiece.
A compilation that includes a new(ish) Queen song is absolutely worth the money, not to mention LMIYHA is a song worth listening. Also, as much as some dislike it, TMBMTLTT was hard to put on an album in any capacity. Add the new backing track for Love Kills and it really wasn't that bad, all things considered.
Well as much as i love Freddie to bits even i will not buy this boring box set which has been re-done over and over again.
I don't care if its been remastered or polished on Fred's teeth it is still what i have already heard!
It is about time they dug deep and found us some unheard Queen material and turn that into a box set.
