What has Brian and / or Roger done that you have liked since Freddie Mercury's death? And what have you disliked?
Liked
The Freddie Mercury tribute. I never feel the urge to watch it these days, but still, a nice idea.
Some of the tracks from Back To The Light.
Some of the tracks from Made In Heaven. I thought the title track was good. You Don't Fool Me was quite catchy too.
No One But You
Their more recent work on Let Me In Your Heart Again, and Love Kills.
Disliked
I didn't like their awkward and clumsy version of I Was Born To Love You on Made In Heaven.
Collaborations with Five, Lady Gaga, Dappy etc. Aside from the Freddie Mercury tribute, I can't think of any collaborations they've done that I liked.
The Cosmos Rocks. It was so underwhelming and boring that I never even bought it.
I can't stand the Lambert collaboration.
I only ever cared for Fun in Space when it came to Roger's solo output.
I loved Brian's back to the light tour. The Brixton Academy gig is one of my favourite ever gigs. I have spoken about it on here before (many years ago) but the walk back to Elephant and Castle carrying a bunch of inflatable hammers will live with me till I die.
I liked Back to the light, Another World not so much, didn't hate it, but it doesn't get played ever.
Happiness is better than electric fire. Some decent songs on both, though Foreign Sand might be my favourite Roger single. Yes, maybe better than man on fire or strange frontier.
I liked Fun on Earth in the main, but it's both patchy and repetitive.
I'm very pro Made In Heaven. I think it's a good album. Is it a good Queen album? That's maybe a different thing. It has a different feel to every other Queen album.
As for the Queen+ stuff. The 46664 stuff was in the main just ok. Nice to try some new styles.
Brian on the roof of Buckingham Palace was great.
Brighton Rock guitar solo at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony... I mean how the eff did they manage to get the go ahead for that. Brilliant.
WWRY at the olympics... not so much.
Queen and Paul Rodgers, the North American tour I saw was enjoyable, great to see Brian and Roger but it never felt like Queen and the album sits untouched and covered in dust on shelves up and down the country. Though actually, not that many shelves.
QAL... im personally very pro, but theres a whole section of this website where i can be abused for that pov so ill say no more.
Brian Spiderman... well that was just weird.
Badger Badger Badger... I'm all for it. Play it again... and again... one more time. It's just funny.
Rogers most recent tracks... well it sounds like he's just complaining while strumming guitars. But I loved the purple mix of gangsters.
I'm sure I've forgotten a shedload of stuff.
They've done a lot since 1991 and I can't be bothered to name it all. Liked most stuff, didn't like some collaborations.
Really didn't like QAL, the movie, collaborations with shitheads like Dappy and the lack of an anthology.
Good:
- Back to the Light & Another World
- Live Releases & NOTW box set
- Being 35 and still having had the chance to see them live in my hometown (twice!)
- movie - didn't like it but the decision to make one was a step in the right direction (exposure)
- everything done with John Deacon 92-97
- using Adam Lambert as a frontman rather than a superstar vocalist (not a Lambert fan, but i support what he's done for the queen brand)
Bad:
- boy band collaborations (they learned to not do this again)
- lack of a proper anthology release
- save the badger
