Looks like it's gone for good less than a week before my concert. I guess they only want to play the same "greatest hits" that have been driven into the ground. |
SweetCaroline 11.08.2019 05:27 |
I don’t understand why they would make such a sudden decision after keeping the same set list so long. Wonder if there is a technical difficulty. The show was flowing nicely. |

The show was flowing nicely. You might have some idea now when some of us Queen fans were notpleased when some other songs were dropped. You said yourself many times you don't care what they play, because you love it all. Yes, song choices do matter at least for some of us. What I don't get why you are unhappy Machines is dropped. I doubt you ever heard the song before AL sang it. I don't think there is a technical difficulty. Maybe AL will say it was dropped because they felt like it. For people like Queenusa, I hope it's not dropped for good. Even for me, I hope it's not dropped for good, mainly because that means less of Freddie in these shows. I dare say that you will still enjoy the concert that you will attend. |

The show was flowing nicely. It seemed to disappear the show after the review which said TSMGO would be better in the encore as well (and they tried that) and most people sat down and didn't know Machines. Not sure that's true but maybe when they're up there they can see it's not going down too well, even a lot of Queen fans seem not to like the original song so maybe it was just killing the energy? I haven't been watching streams so I wouldn't really know, just making a guess. |

Maybe anyone liking Machines could go and mention on Brian and Roger's instagram's might give them food for thought. |

They should have played The Invisible Man instead. |

Actually...the song I always held out hope for and that most people know was Flash's Theme. I think it would go down a storm. It would be a great song to begin an encore with. |

SweetCaroline 11.08.2019 16:05 |
I was sure Machines would last because of the cool image of Freddie being projected. I wonder if Brian thought that takes away from Freddie’s “appearance” in LOML. I just thought it was cool to have something different and powerful in that slot. It fit in nicely after Bicycle Race and AOBTD before they go into I Want It All. |

On QOL you said if Machines was dropped because of an infringement about Freddie’s image, but here you say that if if the image takes away from LOML. I don't think that's the cases at all. I think the newer Queen fans aren't so aware of it. I wish Brian and Roger were more open about the songs they decide to play, and why some are dropped. |

It was well received in Boston. Nobody sat down and even tho they didn't know the words, they loudly sang Machines when it came up in the song. and were dancing to it. Hope it comes back, a fav of mine now! The green lights that accompanied it were really cool too. The whole look of it with the graphics was kind of different! Hope it will be back for you CNB! |

When QAL is gone, these forums will shrivel up to zero participation. When he was on Idol, Adam’s thread had the most activity, both pro and con. Just seems to be the nature of the “beast.” |

Just seems to be the nature of the “beast.”Social media has much to do with forums not being as popular as it once was. I remember joining QOL and QZ and being thrilled to find and get to know so many Queen fans, and learn about Queen. It was incredible. And it still can be incredible. But to say after Q+AL this shrivel up with zero participation, well I think you are wrong. Of vourse you aren't a Queen fan, so unless you want to fit AL in everywhere you can think of ( and let's be honest, you have done that before ) I don't think these Queen boards will die out. People still love Queen and Freddie and because of the biopic they have countless new fans. |

You and I both know it wasn't like they sat on their asses doing nothing. Queen's music will live on for decades yet. I can't say the same about Lambert or Q+AL. |
anadamfan 12.08.2019 20:44 |
Thing is: When QAL is over, Brian and Roger will most likely stop touring or even stop playing music. At least one of them. In this way, Queen will be over. The music will live on, but there won’t be much to talk about after a couple of years. From the concert on Brian’s birthday: The crowd sang „Happy birthday“ to Brian. His reaction: „Thank you, I will remember that forever.“ Roger‘s sarcastic answer: „Your forever might not be that long.“ Unfortunately our heroes don’t get younger. :/ |

All these years after Freddie passed away, he and Queen's music is still being discussed, purchased, played etc. If AL continues to sing, I'm sure there will be plenty of covers. That's what he is known for, even more than his own music. |

Elvis, Michael Jackson. They were all over the media once. MJ was a huge superstar during my youth. But my kids don’t know him. The music of all these artists will never go entirely away, but the kids will follow other artists, that are en vogue. Like Queen now, because of the movie. |

You are living in lala land. Even singing Queen covers for years with Brian and Roger hasn't made the guy sell millions of records, get armful of awards. You know the millions of records that you bitch about Sam and Adele selling, and their awards. Clearly you want that for Lambert. I think you need that for Lambert, so you can brag and crow and say you were always right. Thing is, the more he puts Q+AL before his own solo music, it's going to be tougher for him. It already is. I get that you hope for the best for AL, I do think he would be lucky at this point he had one hit from Velvet. New Eyes and Coming In Hot were not hits. Do you know something that the rest of dont, or are you just wishing here. |

Doesn't look like he is done. Adele is taking time away, who knows she may return someday to the studio and stage. Truth be told, I think she hopes they are done, wishes for them to be done, for them out of the way, less competition for AL you see. That's why she is jealous and bitter about Sam and Adele, because she thinks they are competition for AL and both artists are more popular than AL. That's the vendetta she has about them. She can't even fight out why they are as popular, and successful and why their fans like their music so much. AL would be lucky if he had a quarter of what Sam and Adele has achieved. |

AL has been covering Queen songs for years now. Do you know AL swears too? Or are you purposely trying to look like a hypocrite. Would you say AL whined with Feel Something? Or does that just go for the music you don't like? Last laugh is going to be on you if, or rather when AL's Velvet album doesn't set the world on fire. What excuses will you give this time? |
