Apologies if this has been posted before I thought the pictures were interesting for those who have not seen them, the story is from Prenters family giving a different take on their brother Paul and Freddie and Queen claiming they were all best friends etc ha. link
Nice revisionist history. Are they forgetting how their beloved family member sold out Freddie to a tabloid for 32,000 quid ?
Amongst countless other transgressions.
If anything, the film went easy on him.

Yep.
Looks like the family is feigning interest in him because they might see some cash from a book deal or something.
Cut from the same cloth.

Bit harsh if you haven't actually met them.
Not really. Before last year his family were on the record saying they wanted nothing to do with him.
Now that he's been given a higher profile, they've changed their tune.
Money truly is the root of all evil.

But the movie completely tarnished his name. There are people who are celebrating that he died from AIDS, calling him names and insulting him, when he can't defend himself anymore. I think it's good that his family came forward to tell their side of the story.
Interestingly, a recent Instagram post by Brian states this...
"...Obscured behind Freddie is Paul Prenter, now known to you all as a character in a film, and something of a bad guy, although, of course, he wasn’t ALL bad ! Biopic movies are always, necessarily, a montage of simplifications (otherwise the film would be years long and unwatchable !) But hopefully distilled in a responsible way to tell a decent story".
