This video is a great example of one of the reasons I no longer go to these things. Not only are the costs of these rock concerts prohibitively expensive, but it is difficult to enjoy them because of the actions of people in the audience who insist on standing throughout the show, cannot shut up, and seemingly have to whistle. Ridiculous and a complete waste of money. |

This is esp. for you haters who have certain preconceptions about Adam's voice and the show in general. I have my experience and then that of a professional. You might like to read it! I attended the Boston show Sunday night and it was out of this world! It was packed to the rafters with many people running around outside the venue trying hopelessly to get tickets somehow! It seemed to be all ages with many more young folks than what I remember from the last two tours. I thought the concert was far superior to the 2014 and 2017 shows and I loved those at the time. The opening is heart pounding with the red curtains and that beautiful, mysterious music. It really set the stage for the rest of the show. Now I'm Here is my favorite introductory song! All of the visuals were amazing. The space scene with Brian was literally out of this world. There were just so many things to look at and it went by so quickly. I liked the songs that were played and the order in which they were played. There was a continuity and a storyline. The songs worked extremely well with Adam's voice and I especially liked Machines. Doing All Right with the three of them made me tear up as it is just so beautiful. WWTLF is my fav and he always sings that song extremely well. I get goosebumps! Bohemian Rhapsody is tremendously well done and that might be the audience's favorite. There wasn't a song I didn't love. I think Adam's voice has matured and his lower register is markedly improved and the overall tone is a bit heavier, but he still hits all those stratospheric notes. There was not a bum note all night! His stage presence is much better and he didn't appear wooden at all. The open mouth is usually because he is mouthing the words of the song to the audience. He isn't going for pretend rocker! That made me feel better. Adam is a much better showman than he is given credit for here on QOL. The show just flowed with no down time or lags in it. Brian was amazing. I have never heard him play so fast and so hard and it was a hot, humid night! I don't know where he found the energy. He hasn't slowed down a bit with his guitar playing! He is featured a lot more than I remember in previous tours. Adam comes away and Brian is in the spotlight. Nobody got up and left when he did his solo, just so you know!! It was wonderful with those cool visuals. Roger didn't do quite as much, esp w/o the drum solo. But UP was stellar. He has such a unique voice and I loved Adam and him singing together. It is really a sensory delight on all levels. I would love to see it another time as there are so many things to look at, to listen to, to process and it goes by far too quickly. I was in the 5th row and there was no thrust, so the stage couldn't have been more than 15 yards from me (we were packed in like sausages!). Since it wasn't their normal stage, they tended to gravitate in the middle right in front of me and I could see every movement and facial expression. So cool! The only downside was that since the stage was so small, they couldn't put the motorcycle on it and we didn't hear the bicycle song! I would go again in a heartbeat. It is my favorite concert of all time! I know some of you are saying, "Well, she is a Glambert, so what else is she going to say?" I went with a friend of my younger son (friend is 33) and he is a musician and a photographer of all the rock bands that come to NE. He has played in the official Arrowsmith Tribute Band and is a super bass player and guitar player. ( He used to play in our basement with my sons in high schoo land I have known him forever.) He also has photographed pretty much every rock band around. He saw Queen with me, Iron Maiden the night before, Judas Priest a month or so ago and Korn is next week and he has seen others recently. He has done photos for Metallica, Guns n Roses,Creed, Slip Knot, Ozzy, Avantasia and you name it. Over the last 10 years that he has been doing this, he has seen them all. So he should have much more credibility than I do, as this is his life and his business. He is also an honest person who will tell me the truth. I asked him about some of the complaints that you see here about Adam and this being theater and not rock. He thinks Adam is one of the strongest singers around and would not consider him anything but a rock singer .He laughed when I asked him that one. He does not have a broadway vibe or thin, weak voice or any nonsense like that. The idea of Queen as musical theater also made him laugh and thought anyone saying that was pretty ridiculous. Brian May is one of the greatest guitar players he has ever seen and he couldn't get over how strong his playing was on Sunday. He told me this was one of the very best ROCK shows that he had ever attended. There was no way Queen's show is anything but one of the best rock concerts there is touring right now. He has seen everyone and this show that Queen puts on, rivals the best and is at the top of the heap. That is the opinion of a non-Glambert so to speak, and a professional who deals with rock in every aspect of his life and who has actually seen this show and the 2017 show. The show is a whole lot better than some of you give it credit for. Needless to say we were both happy campers after the show and all I heard were people having been wowed by the show as we walked back to the car. |

Sniffles...thanks for the great review. I know you said you heard people make positive comments as you walked to the car but how was the audience responding during the show? We're they over-enthusiastic? Subdued? Did many sing aloud to Love of My Life( that's always been a tricky one in America)? |

Photographers do their job and are usually no fans. Lameturd is embarrassing as ever. His voice does not suit Queen or Rock in general. His voice is annoying and paperthin. And a parrott has more stage presence than this twat. RT looks really his age now and has lost steam. And each Video i watch May is messing up a solo. If you listen to the audio streams or find the periscopes and video streams on Twitter during these shows, you will hear the massive audience response after each song and the thunderous response after Bohemian Rhapsody and the finale. The audience is cheering the beautiful Innuendo opening and all through the show. A great place to sing along and express any pent up emotions you might have. |

Not that it matters, Queen fans had a mind of their own on that subject but then they do on the QAL subject as well and they would have been struggling to get people to go, less and less would bother each year if they all thought it was embarrassing but that's never been the case. No one expects you to change your mind but out in the real world no one's embarrassed and they get high praise constantly so end of the day your opinion is just that (yours) and counts for no more than a photographer's does in the big scheme of things. |

Listen you idiots, I wrote this and posted it first on QOL and if you think I am going to retype the whole thing, you are nuts. It is my review, written by me last night, a couple of nights AFTER the show and I posted it in two places! They are both Queen sites and I reviewed it on both. What is the big deal? Nothing is going to change your minds and you always have to find a reason that something can't be true and honest. You two are so full of it I can smell you up here in New England and it is a foul stench indeed. The audience was tremendous. There was so much singing and interaction that the sound was deafening. I had had a knee replacement in April and I stood for over two hours and just took three short 5 min breaks to sit. There were no sitters that I could see anywhere around me. You had to stand to see the stage. Adam and Brian acted as if they were pleased with the audience's singing, making their little remarks. We clapped on cue and did the Gaga and the applause went on forever. Brian seemed esp. touched by all the lights on in the arena. It was beautiful. Definitely the noisiest of the three concerts I have been to, but it was also the largest and kind of outdoors. Where I sat was under a pavilion and beyond there was a lawn with tons of folks. I saw no sitters who weren't clapping, singing, stomping, or otherwise engaged. Now, they were quiet for the big songs until the end of the song. I always hate it when someone tries to warble TSMGO and WWTLF. This audience knew when to let it rip and when to stifle themselves. It was just a warm fuzzy feeling with 20,000 other people and truly a night to remember. Here in NE we say , "It was the best EVAH". Runner, if you think you have the expertise and experience of my partner in crime for the show, you are BEYOND DELUSIONAL!!! Roger's singing was beautiful and the drumming was great. Brian can shred like no other even at 72. If you think he has lost a step, You KNOW NOTHING, Runner. No one wants to see you here with your misinformed opinions and nasty comments. What a Queen fan you are, a true disgrace. Freddie would probably spit in your face for disrespecting them. |
snifflese 07.08.2019 13:39 |
I forgot, but Yes, people knew Love of My Life and we were all singing loudly. I am always amazed at how many people know all the words to the majority of the songs. Machines was an exception, but it is a deeper cut and new, but everyone seemed to really like it. It just is a little different and I loved the cool green color and the graphics that accompanied it. The stagecraft was something else!! They really thought about how each song would be presented with the graphics and colors of the lights. Many, many hours of thought and planning went into this one. They really practiced a lot, Icy. It was pretty much flawless. |

Sniffy and Carol are as arrogant as runner with their evangelism, but not quite as obnoxious as runner. Both insist that you can't have an opinion about QAL if you have not been to QAL concert. Evidently, seeing and hearing concert videos is insufficient to have an opinion. I am sick of their condescending pity party towards those who have not attended a QAL (or ELO) concert. Not everyone has to like QAL and go to a QAL concert, catch the holy spirit and see the light. I have no interest in seeing another tribute band (QPR was enough), and I have heard and seen enough of AL in QAL concerts to know that attending a QAL concert would be a disappointing waste of money for me. His rock voice has improved slightly over the years, but his trills on rock songs (particularly during FBG) are often inappropriate for the atmosphere of the rock song. |

She called Paul Rodgers bland and boring, and she never saw him live. Sam Smith , Adele, yep she's ranted about them too and she hasn't attended any of their shows. The hypocrisy from her. She's a self proclaimed expert because she has listened to every Q+AL show. I don't know why she is so out there that people go see Q+AL, unless she gets a cut of ticket profits. |

It is a whole different panoramic experience being in a 20,000 seat arena with that overwhelming, powerful Queen music and gorgeous light displays enveloping you as opposed to sitting in your family room watching fan made videos on a small square screen on your iPhone. Why do you think the audience is caught up in an emotional response in unison in a live atmosphere? You can literally scream out loud and not be heard or be offensive to others around you! I don’t doubt I would like Paul Rodgers better if I saw him live. But I don’t think Sam and Adele’s mournful voices would be more appealing in a live setting. |

I’m not in the Lambert bubble and I have heard enough Sam and Adele music to know what I like and don’t like. All we “Glamberts” have been saying is to not judge Adam unless you have heard him live because auto tuned and recorded music do not give his voice Justice. He must be blasting to be appreciated. My love for the QAL shows is NOT just about Adam. It is about all 6 guys and the beautiful music they make together. Just trying to share the joy — I’m not promoting or bigging anyone up! Because if you did, you would realise that they aren't only mournful as you put it. Funny how you bitched and moaned about Sam and Adele, simply because you are extremely jealous and bitter about their success. AL doesn't have that, so it's enough for you not to like them. Oh honey, just stop. It's always about AL for you and always will be. You have said many times per who don't go see Q+AL aren't even Queen fans, you try to shut people down who doesn't go. What did you tell me, go see a show and to come back to post. Also, you lost your shit here about it too. You must be getting a cut of the profits or something after all the hype and bigging up you have done on Queen boards. And even then, it's mostly about AL. I bet you will say after the show you attend, that's it's spectacular, magnificent and magical, it's the usual way you describe it. You don't even care what they play. Your loss though...you don't even care or know about Freddie’s or Queen's history, legacy or even the music. What matters to you is Lambert as long as he is the oe singing the songs and he is getting glowing reviews. It's very obvious you aren't a Queen fan. |
