I remember leaving School in the summer of 79 just as Queen released Live Killers and then seeing them at the NEC and apart from Save Me the set list was pretty much the Live Killers set list and the acoustics in Hall 1 were fucking awful... Then a decade later they release The Miracle so those of us who are old enough what was your first reaction to the new album? Mine was very positive in fact "Rain Must Fall" is on the shortlist for my funeral (Come on who wants the obvious ones...?). Oh as for Live Killers would love to hear more memories from The Crazy Tour and The Crazy Tour of London...…………... |
Saint Jiub 01.08.2019 00:46 |
Funny how you mention Rain Must Fall. Rain Must Fall might have helped prevent my funeral, as the Miracle was released shortly after I was diagnosed as a manic depressive. The Miracle was and still is in my top 3 favorite Queen albums after Sheer Heart Attack and A Day at the Races. |

Yeah ditto that sentiment. In high school the camp and fun and spirited soaring songs, lyrics and solos kept me in better spirits like a cherished pet, a good girlfriend or such. If i hadnt had that positivity I might not have made it out of adolescence *the positivity of QUEEN (music at least always overwhelms with positive) the thoughtfulness of THE "OO" (who) The both of PRINCE... Those kept me going among others. But mostly them. Brian's 3 step solos got me real good as well While on topic of THE MIRACLE. ... his solos on BREAKTHRU, RAIN MUST FALL (*that outro!) SCANDAL and such got me feeling chills at times. Great impressionable memories. To invoke George Carlin (without the pessimism) art and music show us the greatness and achievement of humanity, but artists are virtually powerless in the grand scheme of things (then he goes off on how humanity is ultimately a failed product whose sole purpose was to create plastic) |

Was it all worth it should be played at my funeral and I sincerely hope it was all worth. I thought the Miracle was great except for My baby does. But then the released Innuendo.......But Both Live Killers and The Miracle where standout albums of what Queen was and how the pulled me through rough times. |

Love The Miracle. My 2nd Favourite Album. Would be awesome if they did release an Anniversary set of some kind. |

Hey man, saint jiubi here was the one who insulted me first out of nowhere. I just put two and two together.I was not kidding I meant what I said, also this applies to thomasquinn 32989 & real wizard. I really believe they have mental issues. Some of you who are impartial and equilibrate might have noticed there is a gang of "boomers" that think they own this forum and everybody else should follow their ideas and everyone should suck up to them and tell them how great they are. If you don't comply you get bullied and trolled by them, well me personally I'm not a sheep, I don't suck up and I don't like the song "If You Can't Beat Them" so in consequence I tell it how it is. I do not forget anyone or anything and Holly2003 and a couple of other animals like him who go insult my mom will be dealt with... |

I was at the NEC too and remember them playing Save Me before it had been released. Also the lighting rig, dry ice and Freddie bursting onto stage in his leathers... all of 13 years old, I’ll never forget the amazing show. Still got the programme! |

FTR: I was never diagnosed as anything other than a male human being. Oh and mono from a gf in high school. That's about it. Their music did keep me with a positive angle through adolescence which can be a very difficult time. Particularly generational conflicts and ideologies, finances (none) and women. It's pretty amazing that a complimentary thread devolves into bitter hatred once again. That said, it WOULD be nice for them to revisit something from the album. Thing is, the album is filed with lots of grief and bad memories (scandal/tmlwky) i wouldn't expect aging guys to put themselves to task again on the past divorces, scandals etc. Also wouldn't expect a US audience to know songs like the Miracle, Party/Khashoggi, Rain Must Fall.... Maybe Brian will touch on it in his acoustic bits when it hits the U.K. |

You are such a snowflake. To you, someone having "mental issues" is someone with the ability to win a debate with you on an internet forum. And because you are unable to understand the difference, it's no surprise you also see it as being "bullied". You are either a sociopath or a troll. Either way, ample reason to ignore you from now on. |

Both albums need to be remixed. While Live killers is a killer album and the Miracle musicaly is very good both suffer from sound production. |

It's a shame because I like to keep memories of these records safe from tarnish and away from bad things, but QZ is increasingly making that difficult. |

Too much love will kill you is a perfect example of better mastering and maybe remix. |
dysan 02.08.2019 10:44 |
In what sense? Needing it or what? |
Dim 02.08.2019 11:56 |
The Miracle album would be benefit soundwise, if it gets a treatment like too much love will kill you (MIH) , since it is the same version from the miracle album which was not included due to copyright reasons. |
Dim 02.08.2019 12:05 |
Sometimes I wonder what if The Miracle had songs like Face it alone, a fildy jam (the rock part similar to pour some sugar), affairs and I guess we're falling out. It would be a different album less "refreshing and fun" but rockier and darker. Since I don't like its sound not the music, I prefer my imagination haha.. |
dysan 02.08.2019 14:49 |
I was going to say - a delicious trap regarding TMLWKY as it was literally unchanged from The Miracle version. I ponder the extended / different tracklist on The Miracle too - as it feels very 'slight' at 10 tracks. But I definitely wouldn't include TMLWKY :) |
dysan 02.08.2019 21:23 |
just as I thought. No one has any response to THE GREAT GOD DYZAN |
Stick 02.08.2019 22:07 |
Maybe they kept The Miracle to 10 tracks because they felt that it had the right flow and atmosphere that way. Of course the extra tracks on the CD version were to promote that medium. There was an idea to release something called "Another Miracle" if I remember correctly at the time. |
dysan 03.08.2019 07:32 |
Yeah I remember talk of Another Miracle with b sides and 12" cuts. The remix album was all the rage in '89. That would've been great. Although probably would've left off Hang On In There as it was on the CD already unfortunately. |
Nathan H 03.08.2019 07:32 |
Stick wrote: There was an idea to release something called "Another Miracle" if I remember correctly at the time.Yes there was, which was going to feature all the non-album songs and extended versions of songs. It was planned to be released sometime in 1990. |
MisterCosmicc 03.08.2019 07:51 |
I love ‘The Miracle’ album but it lacked one of those heartbreaking ballads that Freddie was great at writing until he started dating Jim. |
bucsateflon 03.08.2019 10:44 |
Freddie is to blame for this album being not the best it could be. He went on to some weak and flimsy musical, operatic, theatrical side projects, probably influenced by hes gay entourage, this in turn made things worse for Queen. Def Leppard, Metallica, Guns n' Roses those were trends to follow back then, I'm sure if it was only up to Brian May the album would have sounded more Hard rock, Heavy metal, blues rock and with the genius of Freddie might have been a staple of the times, and not end up a lite pop-rock album instead. A lost opportunity indeed ... |
dysan 03.08.2019 17:07 |
How so? They made a Queen album not a lazy retro rock cash in. That was to come in 1995 lol |
