As promised, here they are. Corrections are welcome and will be appreciated, direct insults will be ignored. Trigger warning: I refer to Mercury as 'Frederick' rather than 'Freddie', to May as 'Brian' rather than 'Bri', to the chief engineer as 'Michael' rather than 'Mike', to the tea-lady as 'Elizabeth' rather than 'Betty', etc. |
Sebastian 22.07.2019 21:05 |
Yeah... it wouldn't hurt to actually upload the bloody file! |
bucsateflon 22.07.2019 21:16 |
You forgot to mention the echo remains of counting to four at the beginning of the track |
Stick 22.07.2019 21:17 |
Thanks Sebastian! Greatly appreciate your work and general attitude as expressed on this forum. Also, trigger warnings have been proven to be ineffective which of course was to be expected. Trying to protect peoples feelings instead of helping them to develop a resistance against those self destructive emotions will always fail. Keep up the good work and I sincerely hope that eventually you will provide us with this type of analysis for every Queen (and maybe even solo) song. |

bucsateflon wrote: You forgot to mention the echo remains of counting to four at the beginning of the trackI didn't - that's just not too relevant - IMO - when it comes to deconstructing its stems, same as anecdotal details such as the concert which allegedly inspired Brian, the 5ive cover, etc. |

yeah, pretty important aspect of the song |

Still, haven't found an instance of Mike Stone having the birth name Michael. Is it a matter of public record? Can't find my Frederick Mercury Album either. Mine must be a bootleg. Sunnuvabitch. After all these years they sold me a bootleg. Too bad that store has been closed 12 years, or I'd get my money back |

matt z wrote: Still, haven't found an instance of Mike Stone having the birth name Michael. Is it a matter of public record? It's a matter of general knowledge that most (not all) people who go by Mike or Mick are named Michael. Of course, you can always have someone whose birth certificate and/or passport does say Mick or Mike or Nobby or Jimmy, etc., but those are the exception. Statistically speaking, I'm playing it safe by regarding 'Mike' as someone whose name is 'Michael'. |

I don't really have a horse in the 'Sebastian has name autism' race but in a reference tool wouldn't it make more sense to use the name these people are professionally known by? Saying Michael Stone seems a bit too far 'that way'. Hypothetically, someone could search your posts for 'Freddie' to access your wonderful information and draw a blank. Just an observation. |

Just an observation.I agree with you. However, at the end of the day it's his prerogative and I just don't care. It's one of his quirks and if it wasn't, it wouldn't be the same Sebastian we know and love. Some people really seem to take it to heart quite a bit, nevermind the trolls who will find just about anything to pick apart. I dare assume most people who are on this forum and who downloaded the PDF are probably aware of "Frederick" and do already expect it :) |
dysan 23.07.2019 17:14 |
I agree with you as well. |

Who's this Frederick I've never heard of? Fan fiction from a retarded QZ user? |
matt z 23.07.2019 18:28 |
To steal a phrase from Aussies: "Blimey!... that Brian May archival site seems to all be gone. This might be a good time to suggest someone with the knowhow to archive such things. Such footnotes and references appear to be gone. Searching for the reference to prime number generation leads only to the Wiki article. Even the other alumni/staffing page reference to Mike Stone is gone. Ahh... the dang internet... It's only the stuff you want to disappear that never does ;) |

dysan wrote: ...in a reference tool wouldn't it make more sense to use the name these people are professionally known by?That's a valid choice. The choice I made, which is also valid, is to use the long form of the name for everybody: Frederick, Brian, John and Roger instead of Freddie/Fred/Freddy , Bri, Jack and Rog. Same for Michael, Richard, Stephen (as opposed to Mike/Mick, Dick/Rick/Ricky, Steve/Stevie) and so on. dysan wrote: Hypothetically, someone could search your posts for 'Freddie' to access your wonderful information and draw a blank. Hypothetically speaking, most people don't care about these things anyway. They'll search for porn instead. |

user1 wrote: Who's this Frederick I've never heard of? Fan fiction from a retarded QZ user?i think you need to hug yourself, user1. you have to clasp your arms around yourself, crossing over such that your right arm is over your left rib cage and your left arm is over your right rib cage. Once you got that right, just give yourself a little squeeze. do you feel better? ok, good. try it again. |

I always thought it was just Fredward, I will listen closely to see if I can pick out Roger! You must mean Fredwardthy. They blend so well you can kinda lean toward one or another for the bits. Kinda interesting that there's no conclusiveness about John Deacon participating. Gotta ask John, it would seem. I always laugh at the video. John seems to be staggered by a clap ....OR SOMETHING at the beginning. He's not with lengthy hair so i don't believe he was tossing hair from his face. It's just such an awkward thing that's forever there |
matt z 24.07.2019 15:26 |
UPDATE***! SUNNIVABITCH! IT'S NOT THERE ANYMORE! Has QPL reedited the music video and gotten rid of it? I seem to notice a portion of it reintroduced briefly later. But John clearly had an awkward moment and twitched his head rapidly and blinked in the promo video Don't give me that "Mandela Effect" stuff. ...IT WAS THERE! I've gotta investigate once time and space permit. have Queen gone back and edited the video catalogue? |
