Hi all,
I am looking for the audio content of this silver pressed in-house promo 2CD: link
As far as I know it is a better mixing than the official one.
(Depeche Mode's Basel 1984 recording has the same issue, the WW1 mixing is far superior than the officially released tracks.)
Do you if this 2CD set was bootlegged or was ever put on torrent?
Any kind help is much appreciated.
Regards,
Sebastian.
The Westwood One 2CD (96-20) mentioned on that thread also contains six tracks from Wembley 1986.
I'll check the full track listing for the 94-15 issue and will post the info on here.
I am looking for a full version. As far as I know there is a full set of London Wembley 1986 Westwood One mix, which is way better than the official mix.
Kurgan, does your 2 CD transcription disc set contain the full setlist of the show (or a more or less full one without the few tracks that were omitted from the video release as well)?
At least you know what the tracks are now.
There was also some earlier Westwood One triple vinyl transcription discs produced for a broadcast in August 1986: link
I checked both 2CD and 3LP versions and both are incomplete. They both omit In the Lap of the Gods, Who Wants to Live Forever, Impromptu (3LP seems to have a track in its place called Ready Freddie, so who knows?), Gimme Some Lovin’ and a big row of ending tracks of Big Spender, Radio Ga Ga, We Will Rock You, Friends Will Be Friends and God Save the Queen...
Moreover, the 3LP set seems to be fuller than any 2CD set, it includes Seven Seas of Rhye, Tear It Up, Impromptu (?) and Brighton Rock Solo, but it misses A Kind of Magic, which is on the 2CD set (although towards the end of the setlist, so in the wrong place).
:(
There is also another FM broadcast from Capital Radio that I recorded on October 25th 1986.
I'm not sure how it compares with the other mixes, but there is a spoken intro by Brian May.
Here is a sample from a YouTube clip I posted last year, there is a download link for the full (FM) broadcast in the video description should you want it:
Thank you Kurgan for sharing both radio capture versions ! Just noticed: ‘a day at the stadium’ and your ‘off the radio’ recording have different songs transmitted.. does it mean that now we have a possibility to create almost complete, overdubs free version of the show?
I think you’re right,, October’86 transmission already had overdubs: just checked Freddie’s vocal in we are the champions (“ And I ain't gonna lose” segment) It sounds similar to official release version
Yes, exactly. As I understand, ‘a day at the stadium’ bootleg version remains the only source with untouched audio. Radio transmission shared by Kurgan(dated 25 okt. 1986) already had re recorded in the studio parts, and later this version was used for the official release.

So, re-recorded vocals for the official release?
