Here he confirms that they agreed on the name Queen on precisely May 27, 1970. After decades of speculation, now we know.
Nah too many bluesy bands around then with that kind of name. The 'regal' theme really suited the sound. Or did the sound come to suit the name? Hmmm
I can imagine a band called Stone Cold Crazy having really bad comic book covers of a sweaty man looking at a hot girl in denin shorts.
Since Stone Cold Crazy pre-dates John Deacon, I'm curious how he ended up with a co-credit. Maybe it was his idea to speed the song up. Or maybe the others didn't want to credit a song to three of them and leave him out.
Anyone know?
It reportedly didn't change much. However, once they decided it was a collaborative effort, Johns name was on it. I think because it was such a derivative blues shitout Freddie was just like yeah whateva
Brian played a bit of the original Stone Cold Crazy tempo and chords on that Alf Boe documentary Freddie Mercury Saved My Life. You can hear it at about 16mins 35secs. link
Given how interested Queen fans are in the original version, I'm surprised this didn't make more of a splash when the documentary was aired.
