Since I'll probably not get the money to make a trip (as a stalker fan would) and I'll likely not run into him at any gigs, this comes as a big blow to the bread basket, IF TRUE.
Someday I'd love to have a John Deacon autograph
*(or one of your basses if you're not using em, John)

Be careful, I've heard his wife instructs people not to mention Queen in front of John.
It's safer to ask for his autograph on The Immortals single not on a Queen album.

Last year I sent John a one of a kind photo I purchased the original of, of him and Freddie on stage in Portland, ME - April 28, 1974. (Photo taken by the infamous punk rocker GG Allin)
I sent him that, along with a copy of my bands then new full length...I was sent back a letter thanking me for the CD along with the picture signed from someone who runs his business for him. (also asking me not to sell the photo, which I would never do in a million years.)
I was pleasantly surprised!

It's very simple. John clearly just wants to be left alone and enjoy family life. As a fellow human he has every right to this. He stepped away from Queen long ago and has always been a family man.
Some fans seem to think that because they are a fan of an artist, or former artist in the case of John, that the artist owes them something. Be it output, be it an autograph or whatever. Naturally this is not the case.
Some so called "fans" have still been trying to get in contact with John for an autograph or something else. These fuckers are asshole creeps in my opinion.
The story of John regarding the public life has been over for a long time now. Respect the man and just let him be.
John is leaving Queen behind so he can devote all his time, energy, and money towards helping a group of Iraq War veterans clear their name with the U.S. Military for a crime they didn't commit. John calls them ... The A Team.
"Today, still wanted by the management, he survives as a man of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, you probably still couldn't hire...John Deacon!"
Does the original poster have a source for the claim John doesn't sign anymore? In an interview with Jacky Smith from 2014 on the queenitalia site, she says she is no longer in contact with John but the Queen accountant is and she gets him to pass on the items she needs signed and this is successful.
There are videos on youtube of him signing even recently. That comment about not mentioning Queen in the pub was in a sensationalist rag, and I wouldn't believe it. I suspect John is very proud of his involvement with Queen in terms of his song writing and appearances on records, and just doesn't want to be involved in active participation with the Queen organisation anymore.
Suspect only because I've no idea.
As far as I know John never signed anyway. He did a little backup signing on stage, but that is all. When he retired from Queen I guess he retired from signing too.
Anyway. Freddie Mercury was the signer, and also the most populous.
Finally someone understands that this topic is about singing not signing. Am I right ACCR?
Although it's a bit late to recognize. Better keep silence and pretend nothing happened.
If silence works so well for John Deacon then it must work for you also. Enjoy your family life, watch our respect growing and Ho ho ho!
