Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this, but I’ve been looking at song statistics on Setlist.fm of Queen shows throughout their career.
I was wondering if Setlist.fm would/should be considered factual?
I see songs like Mad The Swine, I Go Crazy, The Night Comes Down, Chinese Torture have all been played once or twice each and while I understand it’d be crazy to have a bootleg of every night - I can’t seem to find much information about the obscurer tracks. All I can really find aside from it being listed on Setlist.fm are the random fan sites stating “supposedly it was played”.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
My opinion is that all the songs you've mentioned have been played.
I Go Crazy and Chinese Torture have been referenced by Brian in his solos - I think there are bootlegs to determine both of these.
Mad The Swine has been played according to Gary Taylor in his book.
The Night Comes Down was played at the Marquee 1972.
It's fairly accurate setlist.fm but if you want accuracy use queenlive.ca.
I wouldn't bet my balls on that webpage ;)
I was looking for Queen setlists a while back and also found Setlist.fm
It's not comletely accurate imo. Sometimes they just do a rough guess.

The "general" forum would be much more appropriate

It contains user generated content. Meaning it's as bad as wikipedia (which is horrible about real life people and events). I think the term is "take it with a grain of salt".

Well that's the problem - there is no official setlist as far as I know. All of the information we have comes from unofficial sources, which in many cases quote each other, and from unofficial recordings, which also can't be trusted, especially the old bootleg releases (they were very often mislabelled, had wrong dates, intentionally edited etc.).
So what do we know right now?
Mad The Swine - we have no evidence it was played, but we also don't have any evidence it was NOT played
I Go Crazy - well this is a philosophical question - when they played a random song and during the instrumental part Freddie started yelling "Go Johnny, Go Johnny go go go", does it mean they covered Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode? Because the main riff from I Go Crazy was used by Brian pretty often in his solos during that time, but the whole song was never played.
The Night Comes Down - if you believe that this famous picture - link is a genuine setlist and they played the songs written on it then yes, they played it at least once in 72.
Chinese Torture - the same case as I Go Crazy
