-I have a feeling I might regret this, so I'm going to right off the bat request that unless you have constructive criticism to offer, please keep any negativity or ignorant shit to yourself. It took me a long time to have any remote confidence to try and post these here outside of the Thor/Lee megathread-
Hi there,
I couldn't help but notice that, while some people have posted their covers individually, there doesn't seem to be a main go-to thread for people who want to share a cover they recorded without starting a new topic. I figured we could try and collect that here. I'll (very nervously) start...
So my background is in musical theatre. I've been trained to sing classically and it's where my strength has always been, stuff like "Les Mis" and "Phantom", etc. But for years I've been desperate to be able to sing other styles, especially rock music but my voice wasn't right for it. Semi-operatic baritone doing rock just doesn't work.
Discovering Queen is what finally got me to try and figure out how to sing this shit and not sound like a "pretty", "well trained" vocalist and have some sort of edge to my voice without hurting it.
Well for whatever reason, I finally figured out how to do that and have recorded some Queen covers that I'm really happy with and wanted to share here.
"I Want It All"- link
"Hammer to Fall"- link
"Gimme the Prize"- link
"Breakthru"- link
I'm really happy with most of these and finally grew some balls to try sharing them here. Anyway, I legit hope you guys like them or can at least find something decent to say here. I'm very accomplished in the field of theatre but this is a field musically I've always wanted to be good at. Within my circle of friends and performers I can't find enough people who want to listen to these or know enough about the music, so gathering feedback is tough.
Anyway, if you liked those I have a few "Queen" covers on my channel from a few months ago BEFORE I had developed any edge on my voice. I have a feeling you all wont be to keen on these (Lambert comparisons were made so tread lightly to those of you who can't stand him) but what the hell, its a work in progress:
"The Show Must Go On"- link
(this was the first Queen cover I ever tried)
"Who Wants To Live Forever"- link
(I used a very classical voice here because I think it works with the song, this is more what I usually sound like)
And there's a few more but I'll leave those to anyone who wants to seek them out.
Again, rock music is NOT my regular style but it is one that I'm working my ass off to try and become better at. Any feedback or constructive criticism is welcome but if you're going to be a dick don't waste the energy.
To those who DO listen, thank you so much for taking the time to do so and I genuinely hope you enjoy them.
~Brady
Hey guys, thanks so much for the positive replies, really means a lot coming from you all. I don't intend to ever front a rock band or anything, I know my place as a singer haha, but it's nice to know I can do these -well enough- if I ever wanted to include them in a concert and have it not be cringe worthy. Thanks :)
I posted a song I worked on in February and never was able to finish, sort of a *demo/scratch vocal* version of "Too Much Love Will Kill You". There's some info on why I wanted to record it in the description for those of you who may be curious: link
Thanks again to everyone who took time to listen!

Well if you can be brave enough to post yours then I think I can probably dare to do the same with mine.
I like the idea of there being a proper place to post covers.
These are the ones I've got closest with: link (Breakthru) and link (Who Wants To Live Forever)
I don't know why, but Queen songs just feel far more satisfying to cover than any other band. Every single note adds value.
Feel free to give any feedback you want (negative or positive).
