Saw this on queenpedia. I wished Queen Productions would have done it this way 10 years ago instead of the horrible 4 boxes that we got. This imaginary looks way better in my opinion. At the moment i'm trying to collect all tracks together in the best possible quality. link
Problematic for me. For it to be a useful release to compliment the studio albums it could go one of two ways. Too many duplicates for a start - where there is a single edit I'd only include that as opposed to the album cut too (EG KYA) and it's unnecessary having the same track on multiple CDs (IE BR - just include the French edit if it exists). Live tracks are fine in the case of tracks from existing live albums as fades make them different to the album cuts. When it gets onto the 80s and we have multiple 12" / single edits etc, I'd be tempted to only keep the proper 'edit' as the extended version could easily be compiled separately (as indeed I think they have). Later releases with stacks of remixes - well perhaps only keep the compilation spanning the lifetime of the band stopping at 1991.
The other option - is to trim it right down so only single edits and edits / standalones of album cuts used as b-sides are included. Essentially it becomes a 'Past Masters' style release of all non-album tracks and edits with no EXACT duplicates of album tracks. That way it would sit nicely in the catalogue like The Complete Vision as seen in the Complete Works box, but expanded to include edits and brought up to 1991.
Does anybody which Love Of My Life version is mentioned on disc 9, track 4? It says 1993 live version but i have no idea which version this could be. I thought about Extreme's performance from the year before.
Could it be that they mean the version from the Rock in Rio festival? I believe that was issued as an extra track on one of the Queen + George Michael - Somebody to Love single releases.
