Tony Levin = heart and soul of 80s+ King Crimson and Peter Gabriel sound. very unique tone and style.
although i don't think he's underrated - he's normally very well rated as he should be.
ok so after reading the list - i would argue that to music fans Tony Levin, Mike Dirnt and John Deacon are basically household names. and given the number of Queen, Green Day, and Genesis/PG fans out there, more are aware of Levin/Deacon/Dirnt than say, Jaco Pastorius, Les Claypool, or even Chris Squire and Steve Harris.
So those guys should have easily made that list.
John Deacon has been ignored for years yet he is an amazing Bass player and not opinionated idiot like John Entwislte who took delight in slagging John off in one of the Queen documentary's a number od years ago. Mr Deacon quietly gets on with his job and is humble and highly intelligent. More respect for John that is what i say !
Stuart Zender is the best (name). Then comes Carol Kaye, Paz Lenchantin, Tal Wilkenfeld, D'arcy Wretzky and my favorite, Melissa Auf der Maur.
Paz quitting Zwan was a real tragedy. I had to eat a lot of kale cabbage and chia seeds to cope with it.
Oh, how I love all these names and words!

Vocal Harmony Suzi Quatro was the first female bassist and still the very best. Suzi Influenced a host of female stars including Joan Jett.
No she wasn't the first female Bassist.
Carole Kaye is regarded as the first professional female Bass player. She first worked in 1958 and worked on over 9000 sessions in her career. She has appeared on many many more hits then Suzie Quatro and her playing is far more varied and technology better than Quatro.
But you know, don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion

Wrong again. John Deacon and John Entwistle knew each other. Entwiste was physically bigger than Deacon. His comments were a joke. . . John Deacon's good but if he was a foot taller and 70lbs heavier he'd be a great player or words to that effect. . .
Do you really have no understanding of humour.
Entwistle lent JD his Warwick Buzzard Basswhich he used in the FWBF video. He later asked The Bass centre in Wapping to sell it for him.
John Entwistle was still been sarcastic even if he was friends with Mr Deacon and yes i do have a sense of humour because i have to put up with you
and your twisted posts. Why don't you write in Dawn Neesom's column in The Star cos you would make a good partner for her as you can be a bitch too lol
The best female guitarists are the ones who are very pretty and make youtube videos of themselves sat on their bed in just their underwear whilst playing Scarified or summat. I give extra points if I see a boob resting on the guitar. It enhances their playing for sure.
That's actually really hurt me beyond belief. A totally unnecessary thing to say.
I tried to be a good person all through my life and then to hear this - that I suck - and it has totally deflated me.
