(coincidentally published on the 45th anniversary and on a Sunday too!)
I was wondering whether people may have answers to the following questions:
1. Why was the first encore (Big Spender and Bama Lama Bama Loo) omitted from the 2014 release?
2. Does any more footage other than Son And Daughter and Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll exist? I've heard something in the past that the show was filmed by Trident for 'publicity purposes' so perhaps they were stored in their archives. Might Queen have this in their archives?

It's a really fascinating show and in my opinion better than the November concerts. My reasoning is because the November show seems like a production as it looks like they used the same setlist for nearly every night (and used similar speeches!). This show seems more raw and unpredictable as this was Queen in their infancy, before their big hits and gimmicks.
I agree .. a much more interesting show. If they do have it, they held back the footage from the 2014 release (and the plea for more footage was a calculated bluff) to add it on a future set. I would wager they don't have it as I doubt anyone could see that being anymore than a one-off release.
Probably licensing issues. With Freddie's tendency to blend Bama Lama Bama Loo with Tutti Frutti, it's possible the copyright owners of the former didn't want it to be released. Big Spender probably segued into it, so I'm sure no-one wanted to go and sort that out
Assuming they split 'Drum Solo' out on 2 songs so RT got a writing royalty at every opportunity instead of leaving tracks conveniently cued I wouldn't put anything past them.
I always have a soft spot for this show. It was the first bootleg that I ever bought in 1979. I still remember the delight and sense of awe upon hearing how heavier Son and Daughter was live, with all of Roger's driving fills and the solic volcano section (the lager on the tom toms moment) at the end of the solo was riveting when hearing it for the first time. Similarly the energy of Modern Times and Liar, just wonderful. When my sons got me the CD of the Rainbow release for father's day some years back I was transfixed to the speakers whilst enjoying the wonderful clarity. then to hear Great King Rat and Fairy Fella...joy! If only the first album had the drums and bass recorded and mixed in a similar way the album would be all the better for it.
