link link The first article mistakenly refers to Dolezal as the film producer. HOWEVER, you guys who are just beginning to lay giant eggs of disgust.... there might be something coming as suggested in bad taste. Theres simply so much money involved and RE: FREDDIE:... "The bigger, the better" |
queenfan09 11.03.2019 23:24 |
Just saw the same news in the Mail, which made me question if it was true...I guess we'll see - I wonder if they are going with the same actors. I would imagine Rami would have to be paid a lot more. I'm hoping it's just a rumor, but maybe this is the 'how the band carried on from strength to strength' after Freddie's death storyline SBC had mentioned, rushing through to focus on the Queen+ projects (?) |

It made so much money & surely gave everyone such an ego boost & it did end in 1985. People would watch it, so it is certaibly easy to conceive of it happening... Not sure if it winning awards help or hinder the idea as you’d have to be supremely lucky to have that kind of success again... but you know, there are definitely folk out there who would desire it.... We shall see. Although if it were to include post-Freddie years, oh MY... no, I can’t believe Queen would be that distasteful. It would surprise me if there was ever a sequel since the film did feel pretty respectful of Freddie in terms of not wanting to show him ill (as you may imagine Freddie would have preferred.) thus what’s left for a sequel? |
rockchic65 12.03.2019 00:11 |
Rolling Stone having fun with the idea lol link |

No way the family of FM would be open to Freddie’s death being openly discussed in a dramatized movie format. No way anyone’s producing this thing without FM as a significant portion of the story line. No way a sequel would be interesting in the least without FM dying on screen. I don’t think there’s interest in seeing Philadelphia II sans courtroom. They tried and failed with Titanic II. Yes... there really was a Titanic II. This would be worse and if anything may tarnish the legacy in particular to any new fans of the band. Think of what Waterworld (I actually love this movie) did to Kevin Costner’s career. |

They could actually make a much better dramatic film by focusing on the last 6 years of Freddie's life, with no need for music to be played between each song to bring in new fans. It could have a proper story, with decent dialogue and storyline that would actually push Rami's acting skills rather than his ability to replicate Freddie's moves in the concert scenes. It would be 10 times better than BR, although it probably wouldn't appeal to as many people. But that's no bad thing really, as anyone who thinks BH was the best film ever obviously knows fuck all about films. As long as it ended with Freddie's death or possible the reunion concert and not focus on all the bollocks since then. |
Dr Magus 12.03.2019 10:21 |
Freddie's death will be in the first 15 minutes, then will fast forward 18 years to Lambert. No explanation of why John is missing, or owt in between. Good news is Lambert will be able to provide his own singing voice. Or will they hire Martel? |
bucsateflon 12.03.2019 11:21 |
its already established the sequel... "The show must go on" screenplay drawn from the upcoming documentary. Of course the Freddie part will be stretched and the Adam part compressed. |
bucsateflon 12.03.2019 11:28 |
The rolling stone piece written by Andy Greene is garbage material, disrespectful an condescending and deliberately misleading. |
dave76 12.03.2019 12:23 |
If they consider Rami again it will be a short appearance for him then. |

Anything that shatters Queen+ crap and promotes Freddie Mercury gets my vote. |
Dim 12.03.2019 17:43 |
They could make a movie about Queen on road and focus on tours. The soundtrack could be great |
k-m 12.03.2019 18:39 |
In the absence of new albums, I think they could simply release one every few years as they did with albums all these years ago. Bri and Rog would just need to have a word with creators of Dolly the sheep and we could see them touring these movies fucking endlessly. Glambert can stay. No need to worry about the individual plots, they could simply go a bit prog and release concept films focusing on particular aspects of their remarkable story. Like one film devoted to Bri's relationship with Red Special, another one pondering on his cosmos ambitions and fight for badgers (or is it too much?), another one on Freddie's Munich pub brawl and then another one on Brian's hair maintenance, just to make sure we get a healthy balance. Yeah, keep them coming! |
Unniendo 12.03.2019 21:19 |
At the moment, all this is just a rumor, but the idea is very encouraging. |

Its not a rumour it is official because Rudi Dolezal did get interviewed by a magazine and he has even mentioned a sequel to Brian May as well who is up for one. |
junealloway 13.03.2019 09:54 |
Brian May : "Freddie would have loved that!!!" |
matt z 13.03.2019 13:15 |
I was just gonna say: this damn rumor was all over the corporate news yesterday and gossip shows. I don't watch much of either and i still managed to catch 3 stories on tv. So there's some steam in this one |
dysan 13.03.2019 15:05 |
The worst thing about all this is, the clueless are playing the OST in the office. Taking me further and further from the joyful innocence I had first listening to this stuff. *breaks down in tears* |
matt z 13.03.2019 17:15 |
Merely the OST? Lame. |
dysan 13.03.2019 19:16 |
Yeah - the live stuff sounds REALLY bad in the context of casual listening. I felt uncomfortable that someone thought I'd put it on. You know, because I'm older and camp. |
Sweetandtenderhooligan 13.03.2019 22:23 |
Watch them have Mary at his bedside hand feeding him while leaving Jim, Joe and Phoebe out of it |
kosimodo 14.03.2019 05:34 |
I see a better movie the the first coming.. it is quite a story.. recording one vision... doing succesfully akom.. and their biggest tour.. getting diagnost with hiv.. recording miracle and you can get the music really lead the story. Wiawi? More recording.. freddie strugling with his disease and the press more revording.. see frddie going till the end singing those songs.. the end should be freddie singing mother love a capella... piano version of wwtlf For us to walk out of the cinema... man.. the whole cinema would be crying. |
Day dop 14.03.2019 07:48 |
Fuck that. I have no interest in watching someone playing Freddie die onscreen, nor have I any interest in any Adam Lambert crap. |
dysan 14.03.2019 09:05 |
It's a shame they didn't have the foresight to make 2 films evenly split the story. Days Of Our Lives got it just right opening part 2 with the Flash sequence after the massive US success. Condensing 15 years (give or take) into one film, and then having the remaining 6 in another is a bit lopsided. They would have to focus on one story sharply (obviously Freddie's plight and how the band pulled together) rather than live set pieces etc. The tone would be very different. Maybe the darker middle of a trilogy like Empire Strikes Back. And then the final crowning Return Of The Jedi film with Adam Lambert in the role of the Ewoks. |
Star* 14.03.2019 10:30 |
Get Adam Lamtit in SHREK lol |
Dr Magus 14.03.2019 11:07 |
I remember the a Queen doc sometimes shown on Sky Arts which is about 50 mins and Freddie's death is about 20 mins in. The Phenomenon i think. |
dudeofqueen 14.03.2019 14:25 |
Followng the "logic" that makes up the storyline of the fiction that is "Bohemian Rhapsody", it's safe to assume that Freddie will go on to become the first person cured of AIDS on the first day of the new millennium via some kind of magical homeopathic (Vegan-friendly) treatment and go on to renounce the homosexual lifestyle of clubbing and drug-taking to then go on and front Queen at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock prior to marrying Mary Austin. All this as a prelude to Episode III (directed by George Lucas) that sees the members of Queen combine their university degrees to successfully build a time machine and go back to 1978 for John to delete Mustapha from the Jazz master tape, Freddie decide that recording a soundtrack for a niche sci-fi movie isn't the greatest career move and Roger to anally insert a Black Cat Exploding Comet in to Paul Prenter. Brian will, of course, visit Shrepreth Wildlife Park in 1984 and marry one of the resident Flamingos. |
dysan 14.03.2019 14:32 |
John is the key to all this. |
dudeofqueen 15.03.2019 17:48 |
WAS there a someone called John in Queen.............? |
dysan 15.03.2019 20:40 |
Yes. John Binks |

dysan 16.03.2019 09:11 |
Or they could do it like the end of Watership Down with Freddie becoming an animated ghost cat and prancing around with his real cats as Bright Eyes plays. That would be beautiful. |
Star* 16.03.2019 09:56 |
Brian and Roger should have some respect for Freddie and not take this film to the end where Freddie was in so much pain and going blind if they do they are despicable greedy morons and should be ashamed of themselves, there is a line that should not be crossed here. |
dysan 16.03.2019 21:47 |
I said this in my review of the first one |
