Interesting article detailing how they put the sound together, especially the Live Aid sequence, sounds like a lot of work went into that. link |

No sign of Marc Martel's vocals which were put in the mix... very strange. |

Queenman!! wrote: No sign of Marc Martel's vocals which were put in the mix... very strange. They didn't use that much of Marc's vocals in the end but they do mention the voice double just not by name So, we were combining Rami and Freddie in that sense, and then we found a voice double of Freddie because there are scenes in the movie—for example, when he was writing “Love Of My Life” at the piano—where we don’t have that recording of Freddie Mercury. We don’t have a recording of Freddie singing “Happy Birthday” at his parents’ house, or singing “Doing All Right” in the car park, so that was where we had to dip into voice double. Now, the way we created that was on set. Rami just sang that in his own voice; then, in post-production, we would get the voice double to match exactly the songs that Rami had done. We knew we wanted to stay true to Rami’s performance of Freddie, but we needed the voice to sound like the voice that you hear in the concerts, as well. So, we tried to make sure that it was seamless between the dialogue and all the elements of the scenes throughout the film. |

""""for example, when he was writing “Love Of My Life” at the piano"""" They didn't have the recording ? What about outtakes or any demos from the ANATO sessions ? Wasn't Queen Productions helpful enough ? |

lol the Live Aid scene is full of Marc Martel...probably over 75% is him also Rami Malek lies when he says hes voice is used for the songs, if it was used, probably under 5%. |

And the part about Rami singing makes sense when you read what they did, they've gone over his voice with Freddie and in parts with Marc but he sang to make it seem authentic. Unless he was there when the mixing was done it's unlikely he'd know how they mixed everything in and this article only came out today so he's not really lying about the fact he did sing all the songs. |

Do you own a pair of ears? Live Aid is clearly full of Marc Martel. Rami Malek when asked, said his sang and his singing is in the movie mashed in with Freddie. Now that is deceiving, at very best Rami vocal line is so down in the mix you can't even hear it, so he can technically say he sang in the movie but in reality you can't hear him. |

I think Rami was talking about the "bites the dust" scene when he said his voice was mixed with Freddie. |

I thought Marc was singing in the Live Aid sequence when I was in the cinema, but having listened to it on YouTube (and compared it to the Live Aid audio in Adobe Audition) it is genuinely Freddie's voice throughout. Couple of tweaks, I assume to match the lip syncing, but it is him, and Brian is being truthful. What I find weird is that the Ay-ohs in the trailer were clearly Marc. Weird, given they used Freddie for them in the film. |

I was, actually, expecting Marc (as there were so many rumours that he would be Freddie's voice) but it was all Freddie at the Live Aid scene! Pleasant surprise! Brian had to address this on Instagram as Martel's fans kept commenting about amazing Martel's vocals which were in fact Freddie's. :-) Brian said that music technicians brought Freddie's voice back to life from the Live Aid multitrack recordings. He named the multitrack owner. Strange that some Queen fans don't believe Brian and Rami and prefer Martel's fans speculations? |

Thanks for sharing this, rockchic. Love reading behind the scenes stories. I hope they will win the Oscar! |

So I had a listen in parallel of the movie rendition(you can find it on youtube) and the soundtrack album for the song Bohemian Rhapsody. It is Freddie vocal track thru out the song but it's mixed in with bits of Marc Martel, to do this they have changed Freddie's pitch and made it higher to mix in better with Marc's. That's why it is so confusing because its not the clean untouched vocal track of Freddie, hes true voice goes lower and has a wider range than what you hear in the movie. For example the lyric "just killed a man" in the start of the song it is resolved slightly differently by Marc Martel, why? because in the real performance Freddie turns hes head while hes finishing the sentence leaving a clean end, while Rami stays close to the mic with hes mouth open for longer so this had to be addressed in post production with new vocal tweaks. |

Brian said they found more stuff they could use and someone had the multi tracks which probably explains why they changed from Marc in the trailer to Freddie in the movie. |

It's like the Flat Earthers on this forum.... Rami lied, Brian lies.... Roger lies..... Jim lies.... Jesus, Rami sang everything at Live Aid, then they took bits like the breath sounds etc and dropped in Fred for teh rest, Rami doesn't know what was hom and what wasn't? he's got no idea becuase he wasn't in the editing process... but hey keep the conspiracy theorys alive folks |

Testimony of the irreplacable talent of Freddie Mercury: anything else than his own voice is less good! I admire Marc Martel for he has a great voice but he simply ain't Freddie. While Marc has a strong voice, FM's voice is simply unique. The range - both in notes sung and colours - is unmatched. As is Freddie's ability to switch from choirboy-like backing vocals ro soaring lead vocals. A unique talent... And if there's 1 thing good about the movie then it is that the music is GREAT! |

And i am still not over Hammer to fall as singalomg. His voice is so much more extraorinairy then shown in the movie. Showing that i missed the most watching it. |
