Nice review. Everybody says that Delilah is not good enough to be in the album but I'm very glad Freddie insisted to inlcude it. TATDOOL is so touching and sad and I'm about to cry everytime I hear it, but then Brian's guitar starts to meeow and I simply must laugh. I like it. There are not many cheerfull moments during this album. |

A truly wonderful, bittersweet album. Even with Delilah ( which I actually do like!). I'm so glad Queen did the album. DOOL is my personal favorite from it, and I get goosebumps every time I listen to it. @sweetcaroline...would be nice if you took a minute or so to give a thought of your own. Especially considering what an important album Innuendo is. Deserves more than just a link about it. |

Wonderful album! I was listening to the fragments of it recently and it struck me what a great guitarist Brian is. His licks are always so well fitting to the music. I'm not a guitar expert, but even if there are hundreds of people who are more "technically capable", there is very few who have such a music feel. Innuendo - classic. Everything in the middle segment is perfect. And the tone of Freddie's voice is amazing here , specially "anything you think that you could ever be", at 4:17 here: link Headlong - one of the best video clips of the band Don't Try So Hard - one of my favourite song in the history of music. And IMO one of Freddie's greatest vocal performance. I feel this song very much for some reason. TATDOOL - only last week I realised how beautiful this song is. Putting aside all the circumstances around this song and the video clip, it's just a very pretty song. And to me, Roger's magnum opus. Bijou - another very emotional song. When Brian and Freddie were working together, great music was usually made. TSMGO - legendary song and performance. Another outstanding vocal performance. And according to people who were at Back To Tapes event, instrumentals are equally impressive. The Hitman - great riff. All God's People - I like it. Ride The Wild Wind - a rhythm section reminds me of machine gun. I Can't Live With You - could've been better if the band agreed on using real drums back then. But overall very pompous song, a lot of rich vocals so I like it! I especially like the last minute when there is an impression that the band were improvising. |

The bass during the "Love me, baby Don't be so cool" break in Hitman is so damned perfect. Simple, uncomplicated, but Deaky nails it. |

I listened to it earlier today, not realising it was the album's anniversary. It's absolutely one of their finest, and as said by many, wonderful and bittersweet. You'd think with the passing of time, Freddie's death (and how painful the album can be at times) would get easier to accept, but it's not. I've spoken about this a few times over the years on QZ: I had always known about Queen, and liked their music as a kid - but I didn't really get in to them until MIH in '95. That (a copied cassette before I went out and bought the CD) and Innuendo were what made me truly appreciate them (I played both to death and have had numerous replacements over the years) and that's when I delved into the back catalogue and truly fell in love with the band. Happy days, many good memories :) (from the music and what was going on in my life at the time). Innuendo and MIH still rank in my top 5 Queen albums. I can't see that changing! |

I really like Innuendo but the skip button is always ready for Delilah and All God's People. They just don't work to my taste. Freddie was sure singing well on this album though. |

Innuendo is one of my most favourite Queen album. I like almost all songs but Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Bijou, The Show Must Go On, Headlong and These Are The Days Of Our Lives are my favourite songs. |
dudeofqueen 06.02.2019 09:57 |
Innuendo, The Show Must Go On, Ride The Wild Wind and These Are The Days Of Our Lives make the album. The rest is poorly mixed and produced. 6 out of 10 for me. |
pittrek 06.02.2019 12:39 |
Innuendo - masterpiece 10/10 I'm Going Slightly Mad - boredom 0 / 10 Headlong - average Brian May rocker 5/10 I Can't Live With You - even though the Rocks re-take is pretty good, the album version sucks 0/10 Ride The Wild Wind - one of the best Roger songs in my opinion 8 / 10 All God's People - meh 0/10 These Are The Days of our Lives - I used to hate it, but I fell in love with this song during the QPR shows - 7 / 10 Delilah - crap 0/10 Don't Try So Hard - beautiful vocals, the song as a whole is nothing that special - 7 / 10 The Hitman - great rocker, but starts to be boring after the first instrumental section - 6 /10 Bijou - beautiful. Simply beautiful. 9 / 10 The Show Must Go On - masterpiece 10/10 Overall 62 / 12 = 5 / 10 Some amazing songs, some average songs, some bad songs. The sound mix is pretty bad |

I’ll never forget hearing Innuendo for the first time - it sent shivers up my spine. I think the fan club had said there was going to be a new album which I thought was a bit suspicious considering the gaps between previous work and the lack of a miracle tour. But hearing it on the radio that first time made me think then that it was a great Queen masterpiece. The only way my opinion changed is that now it is the last great Queen masterpiece. When it comes on I turn the volume right up and ride the drum rolls at the beginning and let its majesty wash over me. One of my favourites. |

It's a brilliant album for lots of reasons. Above all else it shows what they were still capable of when they were focused, it's something that so much of their 80's work lacked with outside interference and band members pulling in different directions. |

Anybody remember the time someone on QZ postulated an entirely hypothetical new QUEEN album consisting of guessed songs and featuring a SELF TITLED band song called "QUEEN "? this person also included the hypothetical track length in order to fit a typical 70 minute album. Do y'all remember that? Just thought I'd remind ya. AGP 7.11117 DELILAH 9.366667 Hitman 6.55559 Bijou 10.0009 TSMGO 10.27773 (would be an 11 with stronger mixing) |

Ahh, I LOVE Innuendo. Overall I love it more than some of the '70s albums even which is saying a lot. In fact it *might* even be third place for me behind A Day At the Races and Queen II, hmm....?? AND I love Delilah. Well, it isn't one of my favourite tracks on the album, but I really love it. It makes me smile in particular when Brian makes his guitar actually meow and there's a poignancy that moves me: Queen didn't often explicitly write songs that were very obviously lyrically about something important to them in their personal life. They tended to be more veiled, but whatever you think of the song, Delilah is about something very important to Freddie which always moves me: Favourite tracks Innuendo Bijou Don't Try So Hard I'm Going Slightly Mad Love 'em The Show Must Go On (could be pushed into the top category as it is easily above the others in here, yet I don't adore it quite as much as the tracks in the top group0 All God's People These Are The Days of our Lives Delilah Good (I'm just slightly less of a fan of these more straightforward rockers, but they're great still) Headlong I Can't Live With You Ride The Wild Wind The Hitman I've not ordered them within their sections. I could, but I'd prefer to listen and think about it. How very odd that I inadvertently placed 4 in each category though! |
