Hello,
This ist my first post here but actually I'm a big fan of Queen since I was a teenager ( long tíme ago) but I never dared to write in English as it isn''t my native, not even my second language.
My apologize in advance.
I was watching some videos on YouTube recently, Love of my life performed live and Freddie often used to say "i still Love you, don't forget it" to the audience in the middle of the song.
He used the same words in These are the days od our lives" at the end speaking directly to camera. The song was written by Roger, so it is probably only coinsidence but it really brought a new perspective into the "Good Bye" Song. Very impressive.
Have you experienced somenthig similar? Listenging to a song for 1000x times and suddendly coming to somenthig your haven't heared/realised before?
My apologize if this Topic is too sentimental for you
I like very much this song (These are the days of our lives).
I think "I still love you" is a part of the lyrics and I don't think there is any other meaning than the one in the song.
About video for the song, I think probably director of the video wanted that Freddie say this words looking at the camera at the end of the video.
In some documentary and in his book, Jim Hutton said that he was sitting down when they was filming, and Freddie looked at him before said "I still love you".
I don't know if that's true, but it could be.
Mika, welcome and "I still love you" are lyrics in the song Love of my Life - there's no meaning beyond that, other than I am sure Freddie was expressing "I still love you" to the audience too at that point in shows.
I wonder whether this being a line in Love of my Life was in Roger's head when he wrote These are the Days of our Lives though. I mean, not that it is an uncommon phrase, but I'd never considered it and when you think about it in this context it feels as though Love of My Life and maybe the response and interaction of audiences in the way you describe years ago must have been in Roger's mind when he ended the song with these exact same lyrics... Gives an additional poignancy to this video.
Yes I'm pretty aute it wasn't meant that way initially, when Roger was writing this Song. it was just part of thé song, but thé final outcome, Video and all this together added this "somenthig" which is beyond these simple words.
And I like it. i think it is a nice coinsidence. Like closing the circle.

I totally agree with you, and Freddie had that unique way of expressing himself in front of an audience that made everybody feel special to him, even in videos, the way he always looked at the camera, a kind of a knowing look, made you feel part of it, included.
By the way, welcome Mika! and nice post :)
