I spend some time recently looking at mercuryparadise website, made by an old-time member of this board Rien. I was just looking at his collection of bootlegs and it turns out there is a tape of Manchester 20/03/1974 and San Diego 16/12/1977. From what I see, he is a respected person with a lot of great stuff in his possession, so I see no reason not to believe it. Are there any other, confirmed in any way, bootlegs that are hidden from a public eye? From what I remember there is a tape of Manchester 79 made by Jim Jenkins. (I don't want to pointing out Rien or any other person for not publishing the tapes. It's meant to be an explanatory thread) link |

If I remember rightly, the San Diego 77 tape that used to appear on trade lists back in the day was simply the 1977 BBC Session with audience noise dubbed onto it. Not sure about Manchester 74. |
Chopin1995 28.12.2018 16:08 |
Probably that's true. It looks like Rien's website wasn't updated for a long time. But on the other hand, if the tape was in Rien's hands, he must have listened to what was on that tape. I'm confused. |

On Queenlive.ca, it's stated that Manchester tapes from the Queen II tour are repackaged versions of the 10/30 show |

Not sure about Manchester 74.I used to have that tape, but I remember it being (mis)labeled as Seattle 1977. Still fake though, although the actual concert was also on the tape. |

I also remember seeing Cardiff Castle 1976 on a couple of 80s trade lists. I wonder what that really was. |

Jesus and Night were played in King's College Medical School : link |

^ But what is that a photo of, exactly? Is this just a handwritten set list for the night? Artists often drop things that are written on a set list, swap things about, outright replace songs etc. We have to rely on sources like this, but it would only be confirmed 100% if a recording comes with it. It's all juicy stuff and I'd love to hear it (if it happened!), but what interests me is Stone Cold Crazy in '72. I didn't even know it had been written then!! |

Thistle wrote: what interests me is Stone Cold Crazy in '72. I didn't even know it had been written then!!It actually dates to about 1969/70. Here's Brian in a recent documentary playing the original version as Freddie had brought it to the band. |
Chopin1995 22.01.2019 20:10 |
Actually, Stone Cold Crazy was the very first song Queen ever performed on stage. It was said somewhere here by Mike Grose and Sue Johnstone: link EDIT: Mike Grose said it at 33:20 and here by Freddie: |

Thanks guys, I really need to get more into documentaries and reading about the band again. I don't know how I managed to miss that fascinating little nugget all these years!! |

Cheers Ale! Btw Bob, I now know how I missed that piece - I don't really like Alfie Boe, so just avoided the show. I really shouldn't do that. |
