Queen
London, England
Wembley Arena
December 9th, 1980
Here's a quick fix of this 1980 tape, which JuMeteor worked on about ten years back. The tape speed fluctuated from track to track, and there were little gaps and clicks between tracks. All have been fixed here.
I also removed the fade out/in between discs, as a lot of the old CDR versions of tapes had cut/repeats for bookending the end of disc 1 and the beginning of disc 2. It now runs exactly as it was taped.
This is the first of a few performances of Imagine, the night after John Lennon was killed. The audience give the band a standing ovation.
And we have last instance of the short-lived mini medley of Battle Theme / Flash / The Hero / Brighton Rock coda.

AUD>?>remaster(Audacity)>FLAC
Here's my remaster of the second show in London during the European Game Tour. I consider it
as one of the most interesting Queen concerts as it took place the night after the murder of
John Lennon. Queen played for the first time Imagine during this night.
Unfortunately, the recording was really not enjoyable as it came with a lot of tape hiss and
one of the channels was much louder and hissy than the other. Moreover, it was running a little
bit fast. I tried to correct all these things and I'm quite happy with the result as it sounds
in my opinion really much better than the original. I hope you will enjoy it too.
You might think that the spectrum looks like a mp3-sourced recording but it's not! Only a matter
of hiss reduction...
Of course, don't convert it into mp3 unless for your own use.

Enjoy, keep it lossless, and don't bootleg !
Speed correction of an already speed changed and hiss reduced recording (to the point it looks like a mp3, according to JuMeteor) is a disastrous recipe.
If you want to make a real improvement always start with the original version.
Some good stuff has been dropping lately....Live Aid audience tape, Tokyo 85 audience, Newcastle 79, Munich 82 in listenable form and this one is a good upgrade too. Nothing earthshattering entirely unheard, but all those are truly excellent shows and will stay in regular rotation for a while! So thx to all involved.
