edit - an even better version is here: link
This is a slight upgrade of the first night in Newcastle. It may be a tape generation better, and it has an extra few seconds of tape after Don't Stop Me Now. It also doesn't have the hiss reduction treatment heard on the more common copy. It's still a bit muffled, but it's audible.
Thanks to Peter Wiley for sending our pal Gregsynth his tape collection, and of course to whoever taped the show - likely a member of the Royal Family of superfans, as evidenced by the usual tricks found on their recordings:
-panning off to one side near the end of Somebody To Love
-long analog fade out/in near the end of the guitar solo
-tape is slowed down between Spread Your Wings and the aforementioned cut (corrected here)
-sudden volume increases in Sheer Heart Attack (corrected here)
Most of these issues are on previous circulating copies.
This is the only known tape of Queen opening with Let Me Entertain You. Mercury and the band are in top form.

Thank you :)
A show generally disregarded compared to the next night but a smoking hot one in my opinion. :)
You're not wrong! This show is slightly underrated compared to the more famous 2nd night. Freddie sounds amazing on this show and this show needs some love!
Despite the recording quality - this is a great show!
Newcastle 1979 was an awesome gig and my first Queen concert so that occasion was very special to me to this day.
Freddie and the band were so loud and Johns bass just thumped me in the stomach absolutely awesome band back then!
Wow what a coincidence I was just talking about this show with someone on twitter last night who's Mother and Father was at that show. Thanks a million for share.
