If the total time is correct for reel 1, that would make AKOM less than 3:49 (a shorter version than the one on the album). The Film version is only 3:19, so with track separation / gaps, it could well be that. |

I contacted the seller in regard to the above listing and was given these three replies when I asked for more information. Again, I provide this information for reference purposes only: Hello & thanks for your inquiry. These are stereo reels for radio broadcast, without commercials. Very nice sound & great show. Regards, -Jo The reels play on both sides, and the sound is very good. I would think considerably much better than a mono video. My husband was in the music business for over 30 years as a dj/producer/sound engineer. Please look at our feedback for comments on some of his other reels. Our customers are very happy. He knows his music and would never allow me to post something other than what he recommends is good quality. Thanks for the inquiry. -Jo You are correct. 2 reels; approx. 30 min. each side x4 sides = 2hrs. -Jo My husband said that it is very good quality, and one of his all-time favorite Queen shows. He also said that he would accept an offer of $150 for the reels. Thanks again. -Jo |

link Unfortunately by the 1980's most official releases had been reduced to 3.75 ips to save on tape, and quality suffered as a result. Despite that they still sound great and are highly collectable. |

I thought you meant the albums were not reel like a fake maybe until I link clicked, now I know what is meant by this. I did not know proper name for this type of media, is very fassinating. also very expensive some of them. I like miracle one, i think about buying. |

The Miracle and Sheer Heart attack were not released officially on open reel. I received no reply when I contacted the company that is selling them for more information. From the look of it they are 2 track (which means they play in one direction only on one side, so require a dedicated 2 track player) There are many variations on how recordings are made, including various speeds. A decent deck can also be expensive as well, and will require constant maintenance. Although it's a wonderful format, you should consider all of this before deciding to dive in. This is my Sony TC-377, a model produced in 1971. It was also designed to work with various Sony Stereo Quadraphonic (SQ) decoders. |

I missed the original listing - was it this one? link I don't know what's going on there - it appears to have an e-mail address on the label for the box - a G-MAIL address. G-mail did't start until 2004, so how can this be for printing the 1991 LP? Hmmmm.... |
