Brilliant footage, thanks! I'd love to know how many similar goodies are in the TV station archives all over the world
Just a note as someone who has worked in a TV station archive.
For video the main problem is that the tapes were reusable so I guess a lot of stuff has just been erased to save money and archive space. Film is of course better since it is not reused but there is still the problem of space and then the danger of throwing out material when you don't have equipment to view it any more.
Nice multi-cam footage... I think 3 different cameras? Shame about the line running vertically down but that could be removed perhaps?
Thanks for sharing!!

I may be wrong, but at 2:45 - 2:52, it looks like a bit of the transition part of from the guitar solo to the opera section of Bohemian Rhapsody.

i think i heard john singing into the mic at around 4:50-4:53... i've never heard brian sound like that and it clearly couldn't be freddie or roger.
There's also a little editing mistake I've just noticed, around 3:13 when Freddie sings "but I've come through". It looks as if they've spliced the footage just as Freddie finishes the line (look at Freddie playing the piano) :)

The audio in the backstage room is also completely off

This is great footage, but it may also be the worst rendition of WATC that Ive heard. That was a bit painful to be honest.
3 months later in Japan, his voice was even worse.
The good quality here makes it even more evident. But this is pretty average for the period. Mercury's voice wasn't great for much of 77-79.
Yeah, even late 1978 isn’t too bad but early ‘79 shows like Dortmund and Brussels aren’t too hot but the April and May Japan shows are a no go! Haha
