“A cult classic reborn - New reimagined version to be premiered at The Official Freddie Mercury Birthday Party in Montreux on September 8th.
The Pirate Swing Band, a 17 piece big band from the Czech Republic, have prepared a brand new musical arrangement of "Man From Manhattan” using only the vocals and guitar tracks from the original 1976 recording.“ link
This sounds pretty interesting, I’m curious to hear how it sounds...
So. ....now this LARGELY UNHEARD song (*in relation to the band) is NOW a "CULT CLASSIC"????!
wow.
Anyways, I'll buy it though. Mike Moran's involvement seals the deal
This popped up on my YouTube a while ago. It's just Mike Moran marketing this project. No music, just talk, so I ddin't bother sharing here. But FYI in case anyone wants to hear it. It's a fundraiser for MPT. link
I looked it up. In The Netherlands the single made the top 10 in the summer of 1976. You're My Best Friend was in the charts at the same time. Eddie's single made #6 while Queen's single went to #9.

What exactly is 'Man From Manhatten'? I have never really bothered to try and find out?
It's one of the most interesting collaborations the guys did outside of Queen. link
The song itself is quintessential 70s and nothing overly special, but Mercury's backing vocals Brian's guitar on the track make it into almost a Killer Queen part deux. It's worth a listen for sure.
All those years ago! Still got great memories of recording the original MFM with Freddie ...Mike Moran, Adam (Mike's engineer) and the Pirate Swing Band have done a nice job of the new MFM 2018 ...The extended mix features 'Johnnie two-time' The real McCoy Eddie
