Some stuff i learned from this book:
Freddie met Rosemary Pearson. They started dating.
Freddie wanted Rose Rose to adore him and made sure he was usually in the limelight in that relationship...like she was his groupie.
Freddie was already throwing with the word 'darling' by that time.
Freddie "made love" to Rose Rose...and made her cum too, which is nice.
Rose Rose says Freddie was bisexual...which for some (ladies) on here is a huuuuuuuge relief.
Freddie wanted to be Hendrix and sang a whole lot of songs, albeit tweaking the lyrics to fit the situation.
While dating Rose Rose, Freddie was fantasizing about having sex with guys, but that made her extremely jealous. Meanwhile she was basically "friends-with-benefits" with at least 2 other guys.
Freddie hated opera...thought it was too hysterical.
Freddie didn't like the artsy fartsy gays...but was looking for the everyman type gays.
Rose Rose dumped Freddie, cried, got spanked with a belt(by her request-she thought she deserved it for dumping Freddie) and had a threesome with a girl and a guy right after...
She felt really guilty for dumping Freddie and realised she had actually loved him.
Roger hit on Rose (minutes) after she dumped Freddie. (She didn't specify it was Roger Taylor, but by that time Freddie had already joined Smile and they were sharing a flat...so yeh...not cool Rog.)
Has anyone else read it?
I skimmed a bit through it, reading a few chapters that seemed interesting.
Yeah, I've read it. It was quite emotional really. He apparently cried about his need for men while in bed with her, and she tried to help him deal with his sexuality but he wasn't ready to face it. I felt sorry for him when he was worried 'no one will like me if they find out I'm a homo'. Poor guy.
She actually left him because it became apparent he was gay. He was obsessed with meeting her gay friends and it caused many rows between them, it's like he kept dragging every conversation back to 'being bent'. She kept the nature of their relationship secret from her gay friends because she felt humiliated by his obsession with gay men. When she did finally admit it to them, they suggested he dump her and that he would eventually be thankful for it. I got the impression he wanted her to be a sort of 'beard' while he slept with men and she wasn't having it because she had career ideas of her own, not wanting to be his cover-up accessory.
He actually came across to me as a complete emotional wreck, though he was very witty in places which fits exactly what other people have said about him. Some of it is endearingly funny like the parts where he met the arty gays and freaked out, either smashing stuff when he got home, crying or running away from them in public. I probably shouldn't laugh it his turmoil, but the image was pretty amusing.
I'd recommend it to people because it shows what kind of struggle he went through with his sexuality. Trying to be bisexual, but ultimately homosexuality was ruling over it and he couldn't get it out of his head. I feel they weren't particularly serious with each other considering she lived with another man, but that he was only with her because he was emotionally needy and wanted to be seen with a girl.
