The Man in The Shadows (Rejected Album Side) Set for release: 23th of November, 2018 Tracklisting: 1. On The Day That Brian Returned... 2. You Mixed His Voice Wrong 3. Out To Bali Again 4. Sipping Alone 5. You Make Me Feel... Like A Natural Bass-man 6. Burning Checks 7. The Meeting (Tied Up in A Trunk) 8. Adam Took My Pride 9. Free Again 10. Stripping Like a True Deaky. Queen’s bass player John Deacon, under exclusive license to Country By-gones Shit (in short: CBS Records) will release ‘The Man in The Shadows (Rejected Album Side)’. The record, rated PG-21 will feature hidden gems from John Deacon's private archives. Such tracks as Out To Bali Again, Stripping Like a True Deaky and the upcoming hit On The Day That Brian Returned feature John Deacon's versatile vocal performances, kept in secret since 1991 because of his best friend's and group leader of Queen: Freddie Mercury's will. It is rumoured that upon hearing of these very tracks Brian May, in cold blood, killed a badger and even Mercury himself - although weakened by AIDS - was not able to stop him. It was one of his most poignant decisions to keep this album shelved. As 30th anniversary of recording these glorious vocal tracks is drawing near, a special edition of the album will be released featuring the second disc, on which demos of some of the tracks from the album and original never-heard before demos will be released for the first time. 1. Burning Cheeks (Re-Made into: Burning Checks). 2. The Whiny Curl Flattened Sharply / Badger's Blood 3. Forced Rhapsody / Singing in a Trunk 4. Pain in the Back (Re-Made into: Adam Took My Pride) 5. Freddie Was Right / They Broke My Fender For casual fans and Queen connoisseurs alike, the new MITSH package, with its feast of extra material, is manna from Heaven - a buried treasure from a most famous partying bass guitarist in his prime. |

No hope for Jazz releaze in any edition or complete video collection on BD/2DVD? |
Jimmy Dean 09.08.2018 22:25 |
hoping for a complete video collection or live vinyl box set. very doubtful of something unearthed this year given they've been touring etc. i would not be surprised if they issue a live QAL blu ray to coincide with the movie release. |
MercurialFreddie 09.08.2018 22:35 |
Touring is one thing while GB, Jim Jenkins and others are working on archival stuff. Maybe the band or Jim Beach gave approval for something and something is really waiting in the pipeline. |
MackMantilla 09.08.2018 22:58 |
Another hits compilation as a OST for the upcoming movie... |
earwig 09.08.2018 23:02 |
Makes sense to do a new Greatest Video Hits package to support movie release. Hopefully on blu-ray in original 4:3 ratio and with Innuendo singles all in 5.1 |

Wouldn’t there have been some more concrete rumours floating around by now about such a product? It’s August 10th already and with the UK release of the album on October 24th they’re running out of time to prep a release. Yes sometimes there is a press release 6 weeks before the actual release date but haven’t the last couple of releases been known about at least 2 if not more months before? I think the soundtrack album is all we’re getting plus more advertising/ promotion for the existing ‘hits’ albums possibly with ‘enhanced’ packaging. |
Jimmy Dean 10.08.2018 02:25 |
we still have time.- i think we usually get an official announcement in september for a november release. |
Saint Jiub 10.08.2018 03:49 |
Jim Beach likely will not flood the market with an archive release at the same time the OST is released. I wonder if the OST will have have a new song that QZ-ers will be forced to buy? Queen version of Love Kills??? |

Repackaged Greatest Hits |
Dim 10.08.2018 10:28 |
I thinkhat we will get Greatesthits videos with some extras for bite. Then shitty kitch mush up Queen songs like the ones featured on the movie trailers. A shitty book about the movie. I forgot about the soundtrack. |

Wembley 86 with Live aid as a bonus. |
matt z 11.08.2018 19:38 |
Emrabt is probably right. The release will only contain the second night with no camera member/angle feature |
RobbyBloodshed 12.08.2018 15:16 |
Hoping in the OST for Boboemian Rhapsody, they include some Smile. Would explain the picture of Brian and Tim Staffel, Brian posted on insta a couple months ago.. |
moonhead79 12.08.2018 15:41 |
Obviously i dream for a jazz related release but probably there will be the OST of the movie (another boring greatest hits) maybe with some remix "Beatles Love style"... Maybe some Smile song could be raise the value |
Vocal harmony 12.08.2018 19:43 |
A greatest hits film soundtrack, so possibly reworked songs with Marc Martel's vocals. Possibly a live Q+AL album and DVD. |
Thistle 12.08.2018 19:54 |
It will be an OST of the movie which will come out on single CD, double CD with bonus tracks, an LP and a boxset with all sorts of paraphernalia including a grow your own Freddie moustache kit. |
softcalavera2 13.08.2018 04:07 |
yes, Its time to a Live Q+AL album and DVD...probably from the upcoming Las Vegas gigs |

I have no expectations whatsoever. It's the year of the movie so all focus will be on that. Maybe now is a good time to release a live recording with Adam. And then in 2019 a big 1979 live box with the best Euro 79 bits (I dare not dream of complete shows) AND ABOVE ALL THE COMPLETE HAMMY 79 SHOW!! |
RS_Protos 14.08.2018 16:20 |
I'd be very surprised if anything other than movie related releases |

softcalavera2 wrote: yes, Its time to a Live Q+AL album and DVD...probably from the upcoming Las Vegas gigsI agree: It‘s time for a live album+DVD of Q+AL. They just recorded the London O2 shows last month. So I would rather expect a release of that. Vegas might be a great show, but I expect the audiences to be less engaged... And then there is of course the movie with its soundtrack. |
pittrek 17.08.2018 07:30 |
They probably don't have any 78 pro-recordings which could be released. So yes, a Q+AL live album and/or the Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack sound very realistic. |
Day dop 19.08.2018 09:43 |
A live Queen release - something from the late 70s would be good (Live Killers update perhaps). I couldn't care a less for a Q+AL release. But like mentioned earlier on this thread, it's most likely to be a Bohemian Rhapsody movie soundtrack album. |
