From Lee Nolan/Thor Arnold some of Freddie's friends:
I am trying to publish a book with over fifty never-before-seen photos
of Freddie Mercury's time in New York City (1981 to 1983) and in London visits(1986-1991). Also, I have written chapters that recount Freddie, the down-to-earth, generous and caring man enjoying himself with his close American friends (of eleven years) right up to his unfortunate death. In his real life, Freddie enjoyed fitting in and just being "one of the boys" Early 1980's New York provided this for him.
The book is finished and being reviewed by a literary agent. Publishing this book as a "coffee table book" will cost a good amount of money.
This book is timed with the opening of the new docu-drama "Bohemian Rhapsody" which is sure to reignite interest in everything Queen and everything Freddie. A free, autographed copy by the authors (I have a co-author who was also part of our group of close friends in New York and beyond) will be provided for any donation over $50.00. This book will definitely sell, but a refundable donation (once the book is published, available and selling) can be provided.
The title of the book will be "Freddie Mercury in New York - Don't Stop Us Now!"
I thank any donators in advance who might help us to make this project become a reality. YOU are the Champions!

Thor and Lee have shared some of their memories of Freddie in the General Discussion Forum.
I am an older fan, 70's... Saw Queen at Madison Square Garden NYC in '77 & '78, Boston in '77. Left MSG concert with Roger Taylor's beat up drumsticks from their set that night. I waited on Freddie and two NY friends, where I worked as a waitress circa 1981 in NYC at Sarge's Deli Restaurant... Freddie was so sweet, shy and lovely to me. I also have tried to place the faces of his two friends, then when I saw a photo of Thor, I had a feeling this could be one of them from that wonderful memory! Freddie graciously signed the Sarge's placemat at his table for me, which I still have, today with all my original 70's memorabilia. What an incredible Era it was! I'll never forget...NYC...

Freddiewaitress81 Wow what a lovely story and you actually met Freddie! I could only dream of that but now i suppose i will have too!
I knew he would be a lovely person but many people on here said he was a nasty person in particular (Embadt) who spouted off days ago that Freddie was a nasty horrible man,
where these people get that trash from i do not know. Freddie was also a very generous man and we never hear about where he has gave money too as he requested total discretion.
My experience waiting and chatting with Freddie as his waitress was lovely. He was shy, and very polite. I was 21 years old, a Queen fan, at work, and had Freddie next to me while I wore a brown, likely food stained polyester waitress dress, very 80's... totally caught off guard and had to be cool. He was very down to earth, no fuss. My clearest memory was walking with him to the front cashier. He was quite petite, and I kept remembering how tall and Iconic he looked onstge, at my concerts! I will never forget his shyness, and how he was so gracious when I asked if he would sign the placemat. Nothing negative about that night... I was in heaven... My fondest work memory!
The things you give are very convincing, I have read it many times and feel very logical. This is my own opinion, but many people may not be like that, but I hope you continue to develop to have more similar articles. mutilate a doll 2
I am so glad these all books are now available, for me, it is one more source for analyzing. I am writing my paper and making the research on Queen's music and song lyrics. For this paper, I found a lot of useful information from https://samplius.com/free-essay-examples/art/ this project which I have explored for myself a few days ago. There are so many free art essays, which helped me to remind so important things in my paper. So, I am a big fan of Queen!)
bearing in mind that the target is 8k - which implies it will require that amount to go to print:
if this doesn't reach it's target, what does the creator actually do with the donations?
*hopefully Thor will answer that, again?...
...Cause *as far as i know* they'd ALREADY reached their goal but had upped the price range twice or something so far after securing the rights/hiring a book agent and now are in the finalization stages of the design etc.
I believe part of that reasoning was to stay in touch with contributors
And another part of it was to allow others to spread the word and/or "get in on the ground floor" (*i.e. offer fans an opportunity to get a signed copy by the authors instead of the likely alternative of having to attend a book signing etc)
That's just my take because it seems that they're doing their best to ensure it's a quality product and meets THEIR (and Lee's apparently flair for photography/design) requirements& approval.
As far as the rest goes: it's been stated repeatedly that if anyone feels like it's not worth the wait or (gulp) they're being "scammed" then they can request their money back at any time.
At least that's what i gather from this
