Has there been a song that Queen performed consistently from album one to the final show at Knebworth? I can only think of Seven Seas of Rhye. I know technically it wasn't fully formed till Queen II.
Keep yourself alive, Son an daughter/Brighton rock guitar solo or even Liar would have to be the contenders for the oldest songs from the very beginning aka when Freddie Brian and Roger were still known as Smile that made it to almost the last show, 'Liar' was a intro during Magic tour. Then Now I'm hear would have to be the most consistent song from first appearance to last although I do believe it was dropped on some shows which leaves Bohem Rhap as probably the only song from first appearance to last that has endured the longest run without being dropped..
^Keep yourself alive/Liar followed by Son and Daughter/Brighton rock guitar solo/ Now I'm hear are the oldest longest going songs that were played in full/in part or at the very least, referenced at some point in every single album tour/'starting off Smile/Queen gigs in 1970s' that they did. But Boh rhaps is the longest song running song that lasted from its very beginning appearance to the last show and today that has never been dropped from a live set.
Now I'm Here from 1974 till 1986 Maybe a few gigs don't.
Jailhouse Rock was played a lot of times till 1985
Bohemian Rhapsody since 1975
Tie Your Mother Down since 1976
Rock You/Champions from 1977 till 1986.
Brighton rock segments are from 1970 till 1986
I think it would be great if Bob was able to have some stats on his queenlive.ca website such as having a number of times that a song was played and even break it down further and indicate each year-tour that the song was played.
Tie your mother down was a contender I thought of that song too, maybe by default it wins regarding 'full song'...(boh rhap was played around with in the earlier years as we know...) it almost has a 100% consistency regards to the end product that stayed the same till the last concert and was played at almost every live gig and would have to be pushing Now I'm here for that title as that song also stayed the same but Now I'm here was dropped for some shows from memory of researching Queenlive.ca But to be honest, Queen were basically almost seven years into their live performance careers and both Keep your self alive and Liar were still going strong from day one and both, Now im here and the Brighton rock/liar guitar solo (both becoming old songs) was still fresh in their minds, all of which made it to "the works/A magic tour.... SO regards consistency...
Liar: 'oldest song to make it through every tour 'in full/part/referenced'
Keep yourself alive: Very close vs Liar but probably the most played song vs Liar
Brighton/Son and daughter guitar solo: much to debate
Now I'm hear: Probably the oldest running song to be played the same
Boh rhap: most consistent song never to have been dropped since its first showing on stage
TYMD: vying with NIH as the most consistent song that has never been messed with
Be interesting to have some good in-depth stats regarding amount of times a song has been played though... when did queen play the bulk of their 697 concerts 70-77 77-82 83-86?
If we had info such as that, we can then figure how many times these songs 'vying for most played,' would have been played.
In not really in the mood for awakening the grumpy giant hahaha
I wonder what he is doing right now??????
Pondering his next move... eying up his next meal
