Hi folks, can’t see I’ve seen anyone post this, I stumbled upon the full Freddie ‘time’ interview, I certainly haven’t seen this before and as there are about 4 interviews in total with Freddie this is quite the gem, sweet quality too. link
Thanks for posting. Wonderfully poignant - especially with all the talk about the movie focussing more on Freddie - that at about 14 mins when asked about bringing his sound to the Time tracks, Freddie vociferously states that ‘the Queen sound’ is not him, but is very much all four of them magically entwining, and that despite trying to duplicate it on Mr Bad Guy, he couldn’t without the other three. God bless him.
Yeah I thought that, but it seemed it was maybe a reference to John's figurative voice in the band set up?
Nice to see more of this interview. It's the one from the Magic Years isn't it where Dave talks about Freddie being the 80s Edith Piaf. Incidentally, a quote I really didn't get for years because I couldn't work out what he said and certainly hadn't heard of Piaf :)
I sometimes wonder if Fred has a full grasp on the English language at times, his answers are so vague and obscure when he's interviewed
He seems to struggle to find ways of expressing himself...

It can happen when part of your job is to talk endlessly about yourself.
Well, one of the things I absolutely love about Freddie is that the ultimate way of expressing himself was by singing. He did feel the emotions and the way he could get them over to others was by singing.
Think about it when he was so ill, it was not him writing the poignant lyrics (, days of our lis, show must go on, mother love etc), yet it was he who was best equiped to voice these sentiments....
Intriguing!
And as a fan or music lover, you either get it or you don't.
Anyone notice the red mark/bruise on Freddie's right arm near his elbow. I'm not usually somebody who looks out for things like this, but i couldn't help but notice it... seem's like KS :/

Yep. The failure of his solo album humbled him big time.
That, combined with Live Aid, gave him and the band a second lease on life.
"Freddie is the only performer I've worked with that every take is like a performance in front of thousands."
What an amazing quote from Clark.
Great interview overall. Mercury reveals a lot about his strengths and weaknesses.
Thank you for sharing the video.
From some of Freddie's interviews one can get a sense how hyperactive his mind is, but here, he is in overdrive. I don't know if its nerves, too much coffee or something stronger (wink wink), but boy oh boy is he all over the place. Very unusual speaking style. Dropping sentences and in some cases words in the middle and switching to next one, thus creating complete chaos in terms of conveying ideas, but interestingly, he still manages to get the point across.
At 8:56 in the video he seems to have a momentary shutdown. No wander?! When you are racing with your own thoughts, that is bound to happen.
Well, most geniuses have peculiarities. I guess this is Freddie's.

Indeed. This was even a thing in his interviews in the 70s, before cocaine. His brain just moved quicker than the words could come out of his mouth.
