For those of you who have met Roger in person. From a fans perspective how is Roger when it comes to engaging with the fans. Be it the fan club, online or one on one on the streets and answering questions about Queen or his interests in music outside of Queen and his other passions ... Brian has the Soapbox where he talks/engages with us about anything and everything. The soft manner in which he talks, he, in a way, sounds like someone who would be quite open and easy to talk to, Roger on the other hand he is very quick witted and has sense of humor but also could be quite direct to??? If he is having a shit day, he sounds like type of person who would very easily tell you to fuck off!!! Also... How does one describe Roger as a public face of Queen 71-91 and post Freddie/today, regarding interviews based on behind the scenes Queen insights to his personal account on relationship's between members, augments he has over albums and songs etc. He has given us some insights/interviews on magazines and the odd tv appearances. Do you find his insights as detailed or as interesting as Brian.... Is there an untapped/overlooked source of information regrading Queen that one hasn't asked Roger... Brian by default, has primarily been seen as the lead/go to guy for interviews, information or deep insights into behind the scenes of Queen you could say. Brian was the one who gave us little insights into the band regarding studio recordings and for example, how Queen came up or how Freddie came up with "the song writer gets all the credits" or the many humorous articles and accounts from both Freddie and Brian and their frequent clashes in studio. On a side note.. On a personal account. How were John and Freddie regarded in the "Queen fandom world" when they entered that medium of meeting with the fans? be it... off the street, kids, autograph signings, attending fanclub outings, visiting sick people etc etc.. and when asked questions, how engaging were they to the fans? Was it a special occasion for you to have met John or Freddie and did they offer more than what an interviewer would get. Did Freddie, Brian, John and Roger do much in they way of autograph signings, attending fanclub outings, visiting sick people etc etc... Be interesting to hear your stories |

Apologise for giving Roger shit in the previous post Togg. How do you rate him on your list on dummers??? He sounds like someone who you can have a good chat too and have some quick witted and humours replys from say it how it is... |

Roger was one of the greatest rock drummers, not because of his speed, or style, mainly because he played something that perfectly matched the songs, he didn't try to be a show off or play a thousand beats per min When needed he could do all those things but he didn't need to. His main ability however is his totally in time playing, he;s always on the beat and amazingly steady, strange as it may seem many drummer can;t actually do that, many would struggle just playing in time with a song like WWTLF, it requires counting and perfect timing, it may sound simply but so many drummers would have made it more complicated to try to hide the fact they can't play in time |

I have been fortunate to meet him 3 times, each time he has been very pleasant and polite. On 2 occasions it was after a Cross show and he was genuinely pleased that fans had taken the time to come along. I have heard from others that he can be rude and unapproachable at times but guess this depends on when you catch him. Was also at a hotel bar after-show where he and Spike were having a drink, did not approach him as it was his private time, we were wearing Cross shirts and as we were leaving he asked if we wanted photo's with them which i thought was very nice sadly none of us had a camera so just told them what a great show they had given and went on our way. All very brief but very cordial every time. My best moment was when we were invited backstage at Frankfurt the whole band with the exception of Clayton Moss were fantastic with all the fans. Roger was in a great mood and very hospitable. To be honest i have met them all and they are great people. Roger has always been my favorite and think he is a fantastic drummer, songwriter and also vocalist...vastly overlooked if you ask me. All my photos and tickets have been long packed away consigned to the archives but had some great times |

I haven't had a conversation with Roger, but he was kind enough to sign an item I bought at auction. |

Brian is the PR guy. He's more in the public spotlight, so he's understandably more guarded. Roger is the guy to have a beer with. |

Sometimes they're just not in the mood to pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend. Thank you Neil Peart for that timeless and perfect description of that feeling. |

Roger absolutely was the most technically consistent member of Queen on stage. 300+ live tapes are testament to that. You can literally count on one hand the number of beats and backing vocals he's missed in his career. And his meter is rock solid. He may not be a technical wizard, but stylistically he is his own man, as his sound is instantly recognizable. All the members of Queen had their own distinct style. The combination of these four people was just so improbably perfect. |

It was interesting that back in the day when Queen were at their height, Roger was the guy they tended to push out to do PR, none of the others wanted to do it, Roger was often fairly outspoken, but often what he said was really spot on. I would imagine an evening beer with him would be pretty fun... |

He doesn't say a lot but when he does it's usually succinct and straight to the point. |
