Secretfantasy, re: >Is the Setlist fake?? and.... >And tell him what mistakes need correcting so when the movie comes out its all corrected.. I've - LITERALLY - had to pick myself up off the floor after laughing so hard. Brooks will have no control over the editorial process of the film which will not be changed on the back of contributions from Queenzone....... It'll be interesting, however, if someone can report back on what credit Brooks receives (if any) for continuity and any contribution to the screenplay. |

Consider yourselves lucky they didn't write "All Right Now" or "Two Fux". |
dudeofqueen 16.05.2018 16:07 |
Ha ha - obsessed with detail that they get fucking wrong time and time again. Pathetic in their arrogance. |
The Real Wizard 16.05.2018 22:28 |
No - he's just playing guys like you like a fiddle. GB is several steps ahead of people on forums who have nothing better to do than complain about the minute little details. The Hollywood cats don't know the difference. And GB gets to tell his grandkids he purposely inserted bullshit into a Hollywood blockbuster film. |
thomasquinn 32989 17.05.2018 05:13 |
Doesn't exactly speak to the quality of his character, if that's what he's doing. Sounds like a really sad and pointless ego-trip to me. |

Accuracy is important. It's one factor among many that can affect the success of a movie. Accuracy helps the audience suspend disbelief. Quality of script, acting, budget, special effects, casting etc are all factors too. But if you get obvious anachronisms like this then it can be problematic. *If* (and there's no evidence that it's the case, just conjecture, so everyone should be careful about making such accusations) someone is intentionally sabotaging the film by deliberately including errors then that is unprofessional and potentially serious. Film studios do monitor feedback, social media, audience reactions and if there are enough negative comments it will be noticed. That said, music biopics are usually terrible. I haven't seen anything *yet* that makes me think this film will buck the trend. |

IF the reason for them is actually down to his intentional sabotage, it only reflects badly on him. (however I doubt the errors are intentional as his incompetence/slap dash approach is well proven). |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 17.05.2018 10:12 |
Well, somebody had to type or at least copy and paste that. I would think it was intended, but not as sabotage, of course. Instead, I would guess it was just a way to briefly promote a well known (Brian) song. @GoldenSalmon LOL :D Cheers, Ogre- |

You do realise, us Queenzoners are in a massive minority here and are no way typical of the cinema going public who will flock to see this film. They won't pore over the minutiae like us, they'll be well happy with a hollistic representation of Queen, Freddie and their story. And that's the way it should be. An impression in the right spirit will be how it's remembered, or rated. |

There are only two possibilities here. GB is totally inept at his job and no one at QP or the record company or film makers have noticed. Or he has made decisions to put his mark on film history Either is possible although at this stage I have a feeling you're right. |

could anybody please post a picture of that setlist? I haven't seen it yet... |
john bodega 17.05.2018 15:17 |
"GB is several steps ahead" This is almost certainly the most wrong thing that's ever been said at any point in history. He's a Ricky Gervais character. It's would not be a 'gotcha' to waste time on such a gesture, haha. |

The Real Wizard, re: >inserted bullshit into a Hollywood blockbuster film. We'll assess that once the receipts are tallied and whether the movie actually MAKES any money, shall we? |

My friend was on set and he said FAT Bottom Girls was playing and he didn't understand why it was 1974 in the USA... So might be in the movie lol |
dudeofqueen 18.05.2018 16:09 |
madmetaltom, re: >So might be in the movie lol Ha ha - I bloody well hope so. Just like moving Jailhouse Rock on the Montreal CD release; you can make anything be whatever you want it to be. |
Wiley 18.05.2018 19:32 |
I'd be surprised if the setlist is even visible in the movie in any way. It's just something in the background, like the Scrabble game board (another fuck up). |
Michael Scapp 21.05.2018 17:31 |
I just read in Greg's book Queen Live, that The Prophets Song was played at the Uris Theater in NYC at the end of their Queen II tour in 1974. Surely he knows that FBG was also played during their Queen II tour, this was their time-travel tour extravaganza that can only be accomplished by opening for Mott the Hoople. |
blueroom 22.05.2018 03:34 |
^ Does it actually say that in the book? I've never read it, and I know it's probably not true.... but imagine if it was!! (and we had a recording!) |
Michael Scapp 22.05.2018 12:16 |
It DOES say it in the book, page 37. There's no way It can be true. Brian said he had the dream that inspired the song when he was sick in the hospital, which was after the tour was over. Even if he had some sort of inkling of a song somewhere, the rest of the band couldn't have heard it yet. |

The Real Wizard, re: >Considering the trailer has been in the top 10 trending youtube videos for days, methinks the film is going to do just fine. I'd tip a large number of those people are having their worst fears realised and won't spend their hard-earned on a turkey. #razzies #rottentomatoes |
