Like a scene from Remembrance day or ANZAC day. As with each and every new day is born. The Last Post is played, we lose a vital part of the Queen memories. From the very top, the 'three wise men' 'the creators' 'the be all' 'The know it all' ha or John Deacon... 'the mysterious one' 'He who lurks in the dark shadows' 'He who lives in the thick mist' Be what you call the Three remaining members of Queen Brian Roger and John.
As each day begins and ends we are a step closer to loosing the ones who lived and breathed Queen, wrote those chart topping hits and have THE knowledge and total control of everything that is Queen.
As each day passes, we have also lost many that have or had direct contact with Freddie, John, Brian and Roger. Those who have a wealth of knowledge and insight who directly or indirectly worked with the band Queen.
Also we have and will start loosing those on this forum, those who witnessed Queen live, spoken to the very four guys, had personal autographs done by one or all the very four men who gave us all of this amazing music that grace this forum with amazing knowledge and personal insights.
From the very beginning in 1969/70-81 those who saw Queen in the very beginning rise to the giants that they become and those of the 80s, that saw Queen become this giant hits band that dominated stadiums. The despair of 1991, the lucky few who got to see the tribute concert of 92. The very very lucky few who were very lucky to get the rare glimpse of Brian, Roger and John together or John either supporting Brians solo or Rogers solo concerts. My generation, the generation that was born in the early-mid 80s that were alive when Freddie was alive, our generation that had no knowledge of Queen that had no amazing online resources to research, view photos let alone watch videos and see our favorite band apart from the very few magazine interviews/tv music video appearances. Now this generation who will be the last to see the creators live on stage.....
Which leads me to THE Question...
Once all of the amazing knowledge is gone, where to with this forum...???
Like Queen of current Show must go on.... (releasing the same crap i.e Wembly remastered.. with the occasional gem "live at the Rainbow")... is it the same case here on queenzone....??? Forever bringing up same generic topics with a very occasional "gem/unique topic/never before heard/latest news piece" let the next generation take over....
OR.....
Like an old Squadron/platoon or a particular group of WWII veterans... Will there be a time to call last round of drinks. To have one last blast of personal insults a round of friendly arm nudging and possibly... HAVE... one last civil debate about Queen from the last few that lived and breathed Queen and call it a day and disband this website, lock it in the archives and say goodbye to Queenzone.com/forums/serious/general/trading... etc and leave it in the lap of the gods never to be revisited but to look back on fun times and remember???
It's an odd coincident I guess. In the last year or so I was thinking about Queen has turned from music to memories for me.Might be a subjective feeling - I know.
Of course their music is still there, just a few steps to the shelf or a click on Youtube or somewhere else. But with all the years passing by there is a sense of distance in me.
Maybe we can have the best of both worlds. but that is wishful thinking.
If anything, a good discussion on here reignites my interest in the band. Even about the most straight forward topic. A misheard lyric or, yes, even a song poll.
the new Queenzone will be nothing but polls relating to nothing ranging from subjects like should've queen done a collaboration with ravi shankar or proposing to steal roger taylor's sextape.

There are too few good discussions though. Usually when they're started they end quickly and are replaced by endless polls and other bullshit. There doesn't seem to be too many regular posters any more. Compare that to the sharing forums where dozens of people respond to new shares but never take part in discussions. That's up to them of course but the result is that the discussion forums are fairly dull these days. Maybe there isn't much to say about Queen any more?
Good question. What'll happen once the original primary sources are gone?
Well. ..you'll have your "Sir Richard Attenborough" of the site: Sebastian. ...AND you may have topical discussions of the ACTUAL MUSIC (meter, key, harmony etc) ....or it could just disintegrate into mass postings about passports
I mean, like i'm 16- I was born 10 years after Freddie Mercury died, 15 years after Queen played their last show with him, but I can easily talk about the band. I can't see why it can't be true for others.
I'll be here until I'm all dead, all dead. I will do so in spite of all the over exagerrated pro/anti Adam idiots that are on this board, and they move on or out of their parents' basements.

Infinity and beyond I'd imagine. The search for the answer to the questions that are "What was Freddie's favourite colour?" or "Why does Brian wear clogs?" will be forever etched in to the inquisitive minds of all children born to future generations.
But what IS Brian's favourite colour of clogs? And why does he continue to wear that wig?
Did Freddie know he had AIDS in 1974? I think Bohemian Rhapsody is about that.
Finally, is Adam Lambert Paul Rodgers' favourite singer?
