Hi Folks: Excuse me if this, as an official track, can't be shared here. I recently found in the Argentinian Innuendo vinyl, a very weird edit of All God's People.I'm sharing my own digital transfer. NOT the usual edit (wich fades early), but it seems like very badly made. It cuts the words "incredible", at 3:10. Also, is ten seconds shorter than the usual vinyl edit. Anyone noticed this before? Cheers, Maxi |

Thank you for sharing this. How do these happen? I have the Argentinian edits of I Want It All and Star Fleet and obviously someone had to make these versions somehow, unless they're some sort of mastering error. |

Your record's skipping ;) |

Anything that shortens that song of wishful thinking is an improvement. |

I must be one of the only people here who actually like the song!!!! |
Jimmy Dean 08.04.2018 05:48 |
i love this song! probably the weakest of the bottom 3 on innuendo - in my opinion - 1. All God's People, 2. Delilah and 3. The Hitman - but still a fun fresh track to listen to every once in a while. If they kept touring, I would think they would have used it within the setlist - if not in its entirity then coupled with some other songs in a medley - particularly the dream bit and accompanying solo. or even as part of an intro bit a-la one vision... "rule with your heart and live with your conscience......it's a kind of magic.... a kind of......love, love and be, love, love and be...." straight into Tie Your Mother Down to open the tour of 92. if only. |

I love it too. Get the sense that Freddie sang about Aids and that every one should care more about the victims. Read the lyrics and look, touch and feel. Rule with your heart and live with your concouises. |
Jimmy Dean 08.04.2018 19:17 |
i thought this song had nothing to do with AIDS or death for that matter. seemed to me it was satire re: people's obsession with religion in general. the continuing message was "rule with your heart and live with your consience" which is basically the opposite of almost every religion which teaches you to love and serve God. the song says you should love and serve no one but yourself. the open your eyes line is meant to challenge the very idea that allows religion to exist... faith. look, touch and feel is something you cannot do in regards to religion. you have to believe. which drives home the whole point of the song - that we're not all god's people - serve yourself - and live freely. |

For instance, the mantra at the end only includes the words "we're all Gods, we're all gods, we're all God's" Which may echo the sentiment of a song like "get up stand up" by Bob Marley. Also, a mere change in punctuation makes it "We're All Gods, People." Though that was probably unlikely, it IS worth consideration |

I'm one of those who love this song. One of my favourite vocals track in the Queen catalogue. Overall vocals on Innuendo are absolutely amazing. Also very interesting how distincly Freddie's voice is changing from 1987/88 sessions to 1990 sessions (at 2:04). |

I like to think that this song, the Innuendo LP in general as well, illustrates how mature Queen became. Of course Freddie's illness played a huge part in this (next to the fact that the majority of the members were in their 40s when the material was released) Makes you wonder what Queen would have evolved to wouldn't Freddie have died. |

Sounds like a skip on there record to be honest. Is it a Crossley? |
tassilo 14.04.2018 07:53 |
Thanks. |
la_ultra_zona 14.04.2018 17:12 |
Pretty accurate to be a skip...a whole word sounds to me like a bad edit. |
Thistle 14.04.2018 19:19 |
No, have heard skips miss entire words...lines even lol. |
Thistle 14.04.2018 19:21 |
matt z wrote: It's now officially a good thing they never performed this song in Argentina, people would all be prepared and anticipating this horrible pause and jumpI laughed way too hard at this lol. Can actually visualise the crowd waiting for the skip :p |
Golden Salmon 14.04.2018 21:01 |
^There are three flawed Queen recordings that I can't listen to without remembering the glitches I know them for. So yes, absolutely I would expect that skip to happen if that's how I originally listened to it :-P |
aristide1 17.04.2018 13:28 |
Maybe the Argentine Catholic Church, one of the more conservative in Latin America (mentioned in The Oxford Handbook of Music Censorship), censored the word "incredible", suspected of meaning "que no puede creerse" or "muy difícil de creer" rather than "extraordinario". Anyway, "...He's so incredible" is a most unfortunate reference to God. |
Thistle 17.04.2018 14:07 |
That actually makes sense. |
Wilki Amieva 17.04.2018 18:26 |
Nonsense. It's a skip - not an edit. |
la_ultra_zona 17.04.2018 19:25 |
Oh...Well, that's the end of this story. But all these theories worth it! |
Thistle 17.04.2018 22:11 |
LOL - did you do it on purpose? Never in doubt that it's a skip on the record. |
la_ultra_zona 18.04.2018 00:26 |
No, no. I heard most of the awful argentinian edits and thought this one perfectly qualifies. But, my mistake! |
Thistle 18.04.2018 14:44 |
I don't think I've ever heard any of the Argentinian edits before! I'm going to have to do some digging, just to satisfy my curiosity lol. You've sparked a good debate, and some interest too! |
aristide1 18.04.2018 15:45 |
Argentinian edits are quite famous. About 30,000 people have been "edited". |
