Hot Space Tour for me. I just love the energy they had in 1982 on stage. It's like they wanted to make up for the album failure and to remind what they were able to do. Even Brian said his favourite concert was Leeds 82. John was playing on the guitar which makes it even more interesting. Freddie's singing was usually phenomenal and his voice very fresh. I prefer his 1982 tone rather than the Game Tour tone, although his singing was great also in the previous 2 years. A lot of interesting, sometimes unusual renditions of the songs, including the best version of CLTCL (in the last show in November after 6,7 months of touring) and obviously Hot Space material which was played really hot on stage. Oh, and one more thing. Their look and outfits was much nicer in 1982 than on the Game Tour. Magic Tour was impressive and I like it a lot but Hot Space (especially European leg) was something more. Works Tour - the worst Queen tour which almost led to their break-up. Terrible drums, lack of enegry and focus, Freddie's voice was usually... yeah. Seems like they didn't care at that point and had enough just after few first gigs. I remember someone here who went to see Queen in 1984 saying that those shows lacked something. Good that Live Aid happened and they decided to perform there.
It's worth saying that I think the Works Tour was a 'good idea' - presenting the album in a great stage set, but Freddie was a bit off form. By Magic I think I'm right in saying there wasn't much power in the performances and I hated the wardrobe. Hindsight is powerful I guess.
+ goodco mine is the Hot Space Tour because of how much effort the band and the crew put into it. Stage Presence, extravagant lighting, etc. I saw Q + AL in Cleveland Ohio in 2017.
+Chief Mouse I mean by everything as a whole, like effort, stage presence, lighting, the stage itself, etc. So just take into account everything I guess.
+ dysan Freddie developed HIV and Aids I believe during or before the Magic tour so I don't think he could have. The bands' and their stage presence could have been better. Freddies voice was great at Knebworth, especially Who Wants To Live Forever. The Works Tour was kind of a disaster. Freddie injured his leg in Hanover, the HORRIBLE voice crack in the beginning of Its A Hard Life at Wembley, and the nine shows in Sun City.
+Chopin1995 The Works Tour was kind of a disaster. Freddie injured his leg in Hanover, the HORRIBLE voice crack in the beginning of Its A Hard Life at Wembley, and the nine shows in Sun City.
@Ohio - Thanks for reminder. I forgot about Freddie's leg injury and Sun City episode, which makes The Works Tour even worse. A lot was going wrong at that time
