Sometimes I read comments at You Tube about Queen's and Freddie's music and Freddie's private life, but I don't comment ( exept two times about songs ). There are really some disgusting comments. Do you read these comments and do you comment? |

No more disgusting than what appears here quite regularly. |

U must be a bit on the younger side and think that social media is a legitimate forum for debate. I shirk in horror everytime i read some lost soul comment from someone saying "ooooh Freddie/Prince/Michael! ! I MISS YOU FOREVER!" When they had no recollection of them even being ALIVE when they were around. It's pretty sickening that people go so low to try to feel important. People posting on YT can vary from intelligent to absolutely shockingly stupid and there tends to be more of the latter. Although there ARE some crazy snide people on this forum, it's not as much of a fixture as YouTube and must be sought out. ...as far as that's concerned, QZ tends to a evade them.(except for the monthly spam attacks and possibly GB and a few characters) It's not worth ur time to get upset with those things. They aren't valid opinions or people. I'm honestly shocked that anybody would think about mentioning YouTube COMMENTS as a thread in a forum unless it was someone claiming to have rare footage etc. But who knows? It DID bring Thor and Lee here for a bit. (To set the record straight for uber fans) F*** em...it's the public. ...it's YouTube, those ppl r crazy |
Invisible Woman 10.03.2018 19:23 |
@matt z, Oh, I didn't know that this thread would shocked you. Otherwise I wouldn't open this thread. ;) __________________ I don't think that this thread is so shocking, I just wanted to know what thoughts members have about it. However, if it's so shocking, I apologize. |

Trueee! I agree with you, Invisible woman...very disgusting comments and posts! Freddie was a talented man but I read 1.000 comments about his private life...I don't like it! I think that his private life is none of our business. Captainjory, are you talking about this blog? ( link ; link ) This blog is all about sexual fantasies and so on I think that the person who wrote it is crazy...she isn't a fan. I totally agree with you :) |

Disgusting comments are usually written by the Glamberts when Freddie is dissed on a daily basis. Many of these twisted kids have not got a clue about what Freddie stood for and how extremely talented he was as a song writer and performer. Other comments who spew homophobia are narrow minded american religious jerks i suspect! |
c.jory 11.03.2018 18:19 |
No, I'm not talking about blogs. I'm talking about YouTube where a man became threatening because we disagreed over footage of Freddie. Suddenly I'm getting death threats. That's the last time I had a YouTube account. |

You can expect cyber homophobia from Russia where it's still illegal (anyone read the Freddie was straight conspiracy theory?!!!), but the Italians? Disappointing. |

Laurie Renata (M.) Darling ! Or whatever you call yourself : Captainjory, Renata talking to herself on FB ( link Sponge Caves ( = gossip from the Kensington Council aka desperate lurker sneaking around the GL) , CleoFeo - the list must be so much longer :) Your unsubtle attempts of character building are funny to say the least. Today you function as a would -be mad cow defending the LGBT community and tomorrow we'll read Renata Caffarelli's next fantasy of a straight FM on your blog ? "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" (unfortunately deleted, maybe because there'd be some conflict with the LGBT community ?) was a good one. Oh sorry dear, you getting death threats? LOL. Please bring it on Laurie, you are continuous entertainment :) |
c.jory 12.03.2018 00:21 |
LilMal, That comment was a mess, where do I start? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say up there; it's a load of jumbled bollocks, so would you please clarify? And no...I'm not getting death threats currently, so don't worry sugartits. |
c.jory 12.03.2018 00:25 |
Also it's really rude to start this on Invisible Woman's thread about YOUTUBE comments. Make a new one about Renata's writing. It's easier than making new accounts amirite? |

I just took a look at that blog and who ever writes it has imagination and courage. It takes courage to express anything and be creative. So much easier to be an 'asshole critic.' Critics are so busy watching and stalking everyone else they never do anything original themselves. Creators think and create stuff about people that inspire them. Freddie used to repeatedly draw Hendrix. Leave that blogger alone to create and look in the mirror, there's work to be done. Sorry, Invisible Woman. I'll leave it there. |

LilMal and Delilah546, Oh henny! The irony! You took the time to make multiple QZ accounts, just to accuse someone of having multiple user accounts on OTHER unrelated social media. You just showed yourself up as a thirsty cyberstalker. Your barely decipherable word salad has no relevance here because CaptainJory has never had beef with anyone on QZ, so what's the point? Four year old fanfics on someone's blog are inconsequential at best and do nothing to bolster your point (which is?). As SmokyQuartz said "Critics are so busy watching and stalking everyone else they never do anything original themselves. Creators think and create stuff about people that inspire them". People using their imagination are to be applauded, not creeped upon by gray panty wearers, jerking over their laptop screens. If we didn't have innovators and creators, there would be no Queen. Authors invent to entertain. So the author will be happy you discovered their blog and found their stories amusing; it will help with algorithms and sales, which is what authors rely on for publicity. You do understand how **Fiction** works right? In case you're struggling, just because JK Rowling wrote about a wizarding school, doesn't mean she thinks it really exists. Creating a screenplay about a charismatic serial killer doesn't mean you want tea, cucumber sandwiches and a whole lot more with the Yorkshire Ripper. Are you following? When Freddie wrote The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, it doesn't mean he believed Richard Dadd's painting was real and Ogre Battle doesn't mean he believed in ogres. So when a writer obliges fanfiction requests about "straight Freddie", then it doesn't mean they actually believe he was into girls. Their Freddie-inspired novel kind of proves what they *really* believe. Decent authors don't let fantasy cloud realty and fantasy is healthy as long as you know it's just that. Besides, those blog posts are FOUR YEARS OLD. Judging by the blog, they've now gone professional. Can you say you've had the patience and dedication to sit down and research Freddie's life and write a series of novels inspired by him? Probably not, because you're too busy trying to hunt authors down and expose them like they're some kind of pedophile. Oh and buddy, bringing the LGBT community and pro-gay activism into it has shown you up to be one of those fans who go into meltdown at the mere thought of Freddie being gay. It's so obvious. |
Star* 13.03.2018 14:21 |
When i was 10 i knew Freddie was so special, the way he moved on stage and how he sung those songs and then it got out Freddie was gay and i was overjoyed ! Just think if he had not been gay he would not have been so creative and special. It is usually the gay stars who go the extra mile to put on a good show, well it was back then with Mercury, Bowie, T.Rex, etc......... |
c.jory 13.03.2018 16:20 |
Yeah it's the camp outrageousness that I love about him the most. His inner sexuality struggle (while unfortunate for him to go through) must have provided the angst he needed to create good songs. Those campy, flamboyant songs helped to define (along with Brian's unique guitar sound and the band's harmonising) Queen's signature sound. I love that whole androgynous glam subculture and also the music hall influences that went with it. If these people didn't have that effeminacy, they wouldn't have created the things they did. |
Star* 13.03.2018 18:30 |
Yes absolutely, Freddie gave those songs, so much flamboyance and style and o one else would have thought of doing it that way back then. Bowie and Marc Bolan had there own flair but for me it was Freddie that stole the crown, i loved the way he done it all. On the other side of the coin you had bands like Sweet who pretended to be gay and outrageous but it never looked natural, you could see they were taking the mickey. |

I watched this video about top 10 bad songs by good artists, and Staying Power was on there. It's not a bad song to be honest, so I commented, "Queen shouldn't be on a "worst" list." And then this guy replied to that comment saying, "Queen Fan 12 They certainly don't belong on this list. It's supposed to be the worst songs by GREAT artists, which Queen is not. Good, maybe, but not great. Very bland.?" And boy did I get mad. |

I really try not to. It kinda weirds me out seeing all the comments from people about Freddie talking like they actually knew him personally. Although a few weeks ago I was casually glancing down at the comments for the "Another Bite the Dust" music video and someone said "The Trump administration should use this as their official song!" I actually found that amusing and it made me laugh on a Monday morning before work. :) |
thomasquinn 32989 08.04.2018 11:12 |
But...but...Ted Nugent is supposed to be providing all the Trump-misadministration's music. I mean, who else is going to pay for his crap? Even the NRA only want him so long as he leaves his guitar at home. Also, "Highway To Hell" seems appropriate, but I fear the devil might sue over defamation... |
Holly2003 08.04.2018 12:01 |
I walked out of a free Ted Nugent concert once. That's how shit he is, musically and also as a human being. |
pittrek 10.04.2018 12:09 |
You know what's embarrassing? I thought Ted Nugent is just a character from the Simpsons (that's where I know him from), actually parodying some other rock star, like Rainer Wolfcastle is a parody of 80's Arnold :-( |
