Having said that, could it be that Brian was so horrified by Freddie's open wound that his memory has exaggerated the image of it that plays back in his head? I'm sure he's not lying, it's just his perception. Perhaps Freddie did have some of the wound removed but the foot must have been still functioning, because Jim describes him managing to just about get down his stairs not long before he died, as Invisible Woman says above.

I don't usually reply to people who include "Hahahahaha" as part of their comment, but for you I'll make an exception. If your idea of "funny" is doing research using the most popular search engine on the internet, then I'm afraid it would be pointless discussing anything with some Johnny-come-lately such as you. I've researched the history of HIV/AIDS, and how the disease affected patients before the advent of HAART in 1995/96, for the past eight or nine years. I don't need a jack-off such as you telling me if I'm credible or not. I'm sure you know fuck all about HIV/AIDS. If you used the internet - through Google - you might not remain such a moron. In case you didn't realise, Google also gives you links to peer-reviewed journals (or you can just use PubMed if you're at a university which has access to it), which can give you an deep knowledge of numerous medical topics, and are the best way of learning about such things short of formal training.
